Not Johnny Weissmuller Great

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Back when Johnny Weissmuller was winning Gold Medals in The Olympics, and playing Tarzan, The Biltmore was at it's peak of Glory. Back then it would have rated 7 Stars. Still an Excellent Hotel with plenty of History. The Pool is Extraordinary.

Nice property but terrible front of house staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I want to start by saying the hotel is beautiful and I did enjoy elements of my stay but the front of house staffs attitude and behavior really impacted my experience. The staff is all just very cold and certainly do not make you feel welcome at all. Check in was fine but was more of I need you I’d and credit card and here is your key. The staff at the pool and Cascade are fantastic and we enjoyed just hanging out by the pool and enjoying the meals we chose to eat there. One evening we had made a reservation for their Italian restaurant, well in advance. We have a 4 year old and we know our schedule so we made a reservation for as soon as they open and had requested to sit outside, we arrived early and I spoke to the gentleman at the podium and let him know and he said just come back at 6. When I returned I got in little line, one couple in front of me and soon one behind me. As I stood there waiting a Food and Beverage manager comes over very loudly with a group of four people cuts in front of those in line and gets this group a table and then he leaves.m, but this group also then wandered off while the staff are trying to seat them. They then start to serve me and tell me, we are sorry but they just gave my table to those people (this blew my mind) and if I could give them 30 minutes to figure out what to do that would be great. Of course at this point I am annoyed and tell them that it’s unacceptable and after about 10 minutes they seat us at a table but you can tell the staff is now annoyed because the table was earmarked for someone else. After the meal I went to the front desk to voice my concern the young lady said she was going to call this manager and find out what he was doing and have her manager call me, all of which did not happen. On checkout I once again stated that I would like to speak to someone but decides later no one has yet to reach out to me. A few other things that are going to make me sound snobby but we found it challenging to get a few extra towels for our room, with three of us staying 4 was just not enough and although they say they do turn down service the reality is they do not as we did not get it which is one of the things that they say the resort fee covers. The general feel is this place is really a wedding factory and everything else second and unless you are coming to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars do not expect a very welcoming experience.

Food poisoning

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Avoid eating the famous Sunday brunch at the Biltmore Hotel. Two years ago, I had the worst experience. I had food poisoning by eating the Hotel’s seafood brunch. The worst thing was that the staff did not helped me at all. 911 arrived to the hotel to inject we epinephrine because I could not breathe. I could not believe how little human being can be the staff. I imagine this comes from the upper management. Mathias Kammerer, I will never forget how you treated me and my family with your little empathy and selfishness to your responses. Avoid the Brunch!
