Lack of staff but a lot of rage

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Been there years ago, that was a good property, now the quality has collapsed... Receptionist not prepared, I can clearly hear a man in the back yelling and slapping the table in a attack of rage and he was clearly heard in lobby.. I've asked to speak with the GM about that, still waiting to be contacted (3 months later)... But I've read all her replies here and she always justify herself blaming the guest, so I'll not be surprised if she will do the same with me

DO NOT STAY THERE!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Not a 5 star hotel. Shower and tub are dangerous. Manager Rosanna Conti is a liar. My reservation was for a premium room facing the mountains for 13 nights. She charged me for that room but gave me the cheapest room in the hotel. This is the second time. Then she lied and said I was in a premium room. I documented the room I was in. She overcharged me $15,000 dollars. The room prices were clearly on the internet. There are prostitutes at the bar and there was a man sleeping with his shirt off on the couch in the lobby. Cortina is wonderful. Don’t ruin your time there at the Grand Savoia as long as Rosanna is manager.

A most lovely hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Such a beautiful hotel. Actually stayed a a sister property but enjoyed apre ski at the lovely bar several nights during our stay. Sergio sure knows how to mix a drink! And remembered what I like! The entire staff treated us like royalty - just a special place! To Domenico - "Say right!"

Best hotel in Cortina

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Great experience. We were there for two 4 night stays with 2 nights away in the middle. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the center of town which is important to me. We had the premier Dolomiti view room both times which while not large, was very comfortable and yes incredible views. Great gym/sauna/steam/spa. Most importantly the staff were wonderful. Warm and friendly and efficient. Kudos to Paulo the concierge for his help. For the level of hotel the price was reasonable. Highly recommend.

I always find something special.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Every time I come here I notice something special, along with the other aspects of this hotel that I love. It might be that the hotel is now making some delicious bread, or that one of the guys at the Bar makes a gin and tonic to die for, or that the cable-car to Faloria is within easy walking distance and that there is probably a major world sports event taking place on our doorstep. Be it the World Skiing Championships in Winter or in Summer, the Ultra-Trail all night running race starting at 23.00. I am sure Grand Hotel Savoia is the best place to stay and soak up all that Cortina d'Ampezzo has to offer especially the excellent customer service and outstanding personnel.
