Not impressed with the service at this hotel. No recognition for lifetime Titanium. They put us in the back of the hotel and wouldn’t help us put any suite night awards in. The beach is empty but when we came out to get a chair they said we could not have any of the chairs in the front because guests already chose those chairs for their entire stay even if the guest decides to not come out to the beach that day. We are also a guest. It should be available to any guest at the hotel. That’s the equivalent of going to a cheap resort and having people put their towels out on every chair. Skip this property and go somewhere else.

Absolutely outstanding

Hotel Patrizza is absolutely outstanding! The service was nothing short of extraordinary as was the food. We frankly couldn’t have asked for more. This hotel and it’s staff ( particularly Peppino and Giuseppe ) go out of their way to make you feel at home. They have truly mastered providing that “ lovin feeling” that most other hotels can only hope to provide.

Can’t be better!

We just finished a 10 days stay in this beautiful hotel. Everything about the experience in flawless. They key highlight is the staff, everywhere from the restaurant to the bar, beach, porters, housekeeping and managers. They made us feel at home with their kind and hospitable attitude. The property itself is very unique with less than 60 rooms on a bay of at least 20 acres. Beautiful gardens, incredible scenery and amazing emerald waters

Not a 5 star hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 months ago

I had initially booked at Baglioni in costa smeralda but was advised to change to one of the luxury collection hotels. I have been disappointed and uncomfortable since check in. My husband and I frequent luxury hotels and Hotel Pitrizza has not been delivering. Upon pulling up in a rental car, we immediately felt like we were pulling up to a 3 star motor lodge you’d find in the US. There was no one in the front. We got out of the car and the entered a small hut where we found someone to check us in. Upon arriving to the room, we found at least 3 mosquitos and 3 spiders in the room. As someone who is very sensitive to mosquitos, this was my nightmare. The room itself is old (which I don’t find charming, though some may) and smells old. The bed and sheets are comfortable but the rest of the room reminds me of a 3 star hotel at 5 star pricing. The rooms badly need an update although from what I can tell, the luxury collection hotels seem to monopolize the area, so maybe that’s why it hasn’t been changed. Admittedly, I am very picky about hotels and comfort. I always stay at a four seasons when they’re present but at this price point, I’d at least expect a room with less bugs or more updated finishes. As for the staff, the breakfast staff is excellent and very friendly. We spent a day at the beach and upon walking down to the beach, there were at least 16 empty chairs by the water with just towels folded up on them and ready to be laid out. One of the poolside staff came over asking us if we wanted chairs and then proceeded to tell me all those chairs on the left side of the beach were reserved for peoples entire stay so offered me two chairs with no view but of a plant and some granite rocks. I sat for the entire day and no one ever came to occupy those chairs. What hotel allows guests to reserve random beach chairs for their entire stay? And if that’s a thing, why weren’t we ever offered an opportunity to do so? While laying at the beach, we also saw people coming by trying to sell us fake watches and purses. Not something I’d expect at a 5 star property with private beach. We won’t return to this property as out of a nearly 3 week vacation, I was the least comfortable here and would’ve departed early if there was a flight to my next destination earlier. The only issue is, having really spent time looking for the nicest hotels here, I’m not sure there is another property that would truly be luxurious which is crazy considering the clientele that frequent this area.

It’s a shame. Poorly managed hotel. All the past glamour is gone…

The plot, the garden, the location are world-class and just amazing. You can understand why this place was once known as one of the best hotels at Costa Smeralda. Unfortunately the hotel is totally run-down and poorly managed. From the very beginning of arrival until you leave, one can barely believe the condition of the hotel and the what you experience as a guest. We had a front row room with sea view. The room had a musty smell, dirty windows, dirty lampshades, it was sloppily painted with color blots at tiles and furniture. We could not close the window in our bathroom. The hotel is far away from a minimum standard of a luxury hotel. The food at the bar and at breakfast are a shame for Italy (we never had dinner at the restaurant). The hotel hosts couples without children as well as families with children, which causes problems in terms of noise pollution. It would be easy to offer separate sections at the beach and at the restaurant so both groups can enjoy their stay, but instead you hear „ It’s Italy, what can you do“ when you mention, that babies and small children screaming around constantly at the BAR at 19:00 is a little bit irritating, while trying to enjoy a sun-downer cocktail. The bar is more of a kids club before dinner, than a place where you can enjoy a drink. So we decided to never go to the bar again and always leave the hotel for lunch, drinks and dinner. Given that the food was poor, it was no big loss. In general there are so many details, which are embarrassing, a shame and ridiculous: - the hotel pool: fantastic size but it is lined with a horrendously blue resin, which crumbles at the edges of the pool wall - just a ridiculous eye sore - everywhere you find areas, which are used as storage spaces for garbage - the staff is generally unmotivated and does not have any kind of refined attitude (with some few exceptions - e.g. chef de bar was a perfect example for flawless, refined classic attitude of Italian Grand Hotel) I love Sardinia, I love the exceptional beauty of the nature and the sea, I love the kindness of Sardinian people. They have this special genuine friendlyness, which is heart warming. I also understand, that Sardinia is a little bit more expensive than other parts of Italy. The season is short and you have to bring everything to the island. I am totally aware of it and I believe that exceptional service and luxury shall have a high price tag. But this hotel is just a bad joke. I hope that after the renovation they will also change the management, because luxury is not a matter of refurbished rooms but a mindset, which is created by the people who run and own a hotel.
