Savour your first glimpse of this majestic castle and its enchanting lake, as you pass through the castle gates. This was the ancestral home of the O’Briens of Dromoland who were the Kings of Thomond and whose lineage goes back 1,000 years to Brian Boru, the only High King of Ireland.

Reviews for Dromoland Castle Hotel
I booked a surprise for my husband to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. All he could say was "Holy Crap" over and over. The service, the food and the Castle was by far the most outstanding place we have ever stayed ever. I booked golf and the gentleman who looked after us was ever so friendly. Management should give their staff a big pat on their backs as we couldn't fault our short stay of 3 nights. The grounds and gardens were unbelievable. We ate at the Fig Tree Restaurant and the Earl of Thomond Restaurant both excellent. The day spa was also of high standards.

We have not even left this fabulous hotel and I am already missing it! The friendly, accommodating staff and gorgeous castle hotel is by far the best hotel that we've ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot of wonderful hotels! The grounds are simply beautiful! The staff are extremely friendly. The food is delicious. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable. This hotel has spoiled me rotten! We are moving on tomorrow to Cork and I am worried that I will not be happy like I am at this hotel. Thank you Dromoland for making my first Ireland vacation amazing!

This hotel was an great experience but I would almost certainly not elect to stay here again as the experience did not live up to the price. The service was excellent from the valet through the front desk and cleaning staff. The buildings themselves are beautiful but somewhat kitschy (think grandiose suits of armor and fake-looking stonework). The rooms are quite beautiful with lovely furniture and an absolutely gorgeous bathroom.....that feel absolutely nothing like a castle or old estate as they are quite modern in style. The food was excellent but as with everything else here quite expensive. The breakfasts in particular were delicious....and 34-39 Euros per person. One experience that stood out as unequivocally worth the price was falconing. The hotel staff quickly and easily booked us an ~90 minute falconing session where we met one of the resident Harris Hawks, took her out and put her through her paces. The guide was helpful, bright, friendly and engaging. She made sure each of us on the walk had the hawk land on our gloves multiple times over the course of the session. I would absolutely recommend that activity to anyone to whom it sounds even mildly interesting. Overall, this hotel was beautiful and the service was excellent, but even that still doesn't justify the price.
Our stay at Dromoland Castle was one of the highlights of our trip - I wish we could have stayed more than 1 night. The staff and facilities were exceptional. Our dinner at the Fig Tree and breakfast in the castle were both excellent. Our room in the tower suite exceeded expectations! We hope to return to Dromoland in the future!
Dromoland Castle has an authentic, 'shabby chic' ambiance in a very interesting structure amid beautiful grounds. The service is plentiful and attentive, although the kitchen and bar service is slow. The Spa is excellent. We had a delightful afternoon with a falconer and walked with a hawk though the grounds, a unique and educational experience!
