I stayed here with my husband for our wedding anniversary for 2 nights using escapes vouchers. The hotel is amazing - it's setting is a joy to walk around. Our room was the best room I have ever been in - the photos on the website do not do justice to it. All the furnishings Are very tastefully done, the dressing room is gorgeous and the bathroom was amazingly fabulous. Breakfast was scrumptious with lots to choose from - hot food is served to order. All the staff were wonderful especially Gerard who brought our bags to our room and showed us how everything worked. We ate dinner in Knights Bar and the food was excellent. We both loved our stay in this fantastic hotel - thank you

Good place. room was excellent. Thought breakfast was free, but was not. not a lot to do on site. if you use the pool you need a bathing cap which was 3 euro. Far from things. had to drive at least 1 hour to enjoy the sites.

Stayed for a long weekend with my mum and sisters to celebrate my mums birthday (we only get together about twice a year). First impressions were bad! It was raining so we pulled up to avail of the valet service which was advertised on the driveway but no valet appeared! I ran inside to look for said valet and no one was we overlooked that and just parked up. Got to our room which was v cold and had bizarre cables running along the floor but were covered in fabric which was covered in dust and fluff. Strange! The major disappointment was when we went to the hotel bar to get lunch... service was average as basically teenagers who weren't experienced were serving us...and then it all became clear... there was a wedding about to arrive imminently! We were halfway through eating and were asked to move into the quiet room as the bar was for the wedding guests only!! Really! We were paying a lot of money to stay here but that is what we were told. The quiet room was freezing , no fire, no music and even less ambiance. Dinner was lovely in the Italian restaurant that night with fantastic service. Breakfast was bad the next morning, everything arrived at wrong times so porridge arrived at exactly the same time as the cooked breakfast ordered by the same person. Extra toast never arrived. Dinner the next day was in the clock tower, it was excellent but again overrun by communion guests. Felt we were second tier guests due to weddings and communions. To summarise, we visit a spa hotel each year for the birthday and have always thoroughly enjoyed it but not this time. V disappointed as we paid a lot of money and just didn't feel we got the service you would expect from a 5* hotel. I'd be pushed to even say this is 4*, I'd give it 3. I definitely wouldn't return and definitely wouldn't recommend it. Feel they are specializing in weddings, that's the big money earner and other guests were secondary.

We picked this hotel for a night away as it's one of the few dog friendly hotels in Ireland. Check in was fast and receptionist was very friendly, room was large and great garden area for the dog. There was a couple of things that I felt took away from the stay, the shower area in the room definitely needs attention but in fairness to the hotel when I mentioned this on check out they said they would send someone from maintenance down immediately. The second thing was breakfast. We ordered room service, I asked for coffee which came brewed in a coffee pot but my husband ordered tea and all that was supplied was a few different tea bags on a saucer, he had to boil the kettle in the room and use that. I know that sounds a bit pedantic but for €25 plus €10 tray charge I think maybe the tea should be brewed, just unexpected for a five star hotel. Now obviously these are only minor but the are the reason for not having a 5 star review.

30 golfers stayed here for a weekend in September. Breffne & Aishling organised everything for us brilliantly from check in, Golf, dinner, and anything else we asked for they couldn't of been any more helpful. A Credit to the hotel Whole weekend was 5 star, staff, food, golf course and facilities. Little village with 2 decent pubs for a change of scenery The Pod overlooking the golf course is a sight to see and offer nice pints where you can relax before and after the golf We will be back
