We enjoyed a pleasant, single night stay at Castlemartyr. The room was very nice and clean, and the service good. The breakfast was lovely. I don’t think I would have wanted to stay longer, as there was not a lot to do at the resort or nearby (Other than the Old Midleton Distillery, which is a 5-10 minute drive). The 4 star rating could easily be a 5, but there were a few things that kept it from being perfect. E.g., The main section of the hotel was nice, but did not really blend well with the newer additions; the garden had some very tall weeds; the large wooden African animal statues seemed out of place.

We stayed in the Castle Martyr resort for one night recently and overall enjoyed the visit. Whilst the staff were efficient and easy to deal with there was no warmth whatever in their attitude or approach. The hotel has excellent facilities but it is laid out really badly. There is a really long trek from the car park to hotel reception. If you are wheeling luggage it is difficult as it is a rough surface that you have to walk over. Once inside check-in is efficient, if rather offhand. But the walk from reception to the lifts is enormous. It takes about 5 full minutes – you have to walk past the bar, dining room, leisure centre, Spa etc. before you get to the lifts to bring you to the bedrooms. For any guest with poor mobility this is going to cause them huge problems. The main bar is very noisy and unbelievably stops serving food at 6.30 in the evening. That’s unusually early in my experience, especially if you happen to arrive late to the hotel and don't not want a formal dinner in the main restaurant. The food in the main dining room was pleasant but not remarkable. Again service was good although lacking in any warmth. So overall a pretty good experience but some areas do need a little work to improve matters. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again but suggest some improvements would add to the positive experiences.

Had a lovely spa day here. I had an amazing facial , Gillian the therapist was very knowledgeable and used an ultra violet light to assess my skin and then adjusted the facial to meet my skins needs. We had a delicious lunch by the fire in the bar . Lovely surroundings

Usually when booking a "dog friendly room" you expect to compromise, however our expectations were totally blown away. Fantastic room, superb bathroom and our own separate garden area which was absolutely fantastic. We travelled mid week and lovely ambiance in hotel, friendly helpful staff without being in your face, Breakfast great quality, really relaxing, Only fault was we did not get a chance/time to try out spa and leisure facilities. Great walks near hotel, Next time will make more use of location and services. Could not fault if we tried, even dog relaxed on leaving

Had the fortune of spending 2 nights in Castlemartyr resort at the end of September 2017. What a pleasure from the service to the obvious splendour of the place. The rooms are fit for Kings and Queens! Aside from the hotel itself, the setting in the stunning southern Irish countryside is also something to behold! 5 stars, will return!
