Castlemartyr Resort

We had our wedding in Castlemartyr Resort and literally couldn’t have wished for a better experience. Everything was absolutely perfect - the staff, the food, the atmosphere, the rooms, the gardens. The staff went above and beyond for us to ensure it was the most special weekend of our lives, especially Jackie who had everything planned to absolute perfection and is the woman behind everything running so smoothly! I wish we could relive it all again but we will be back for many more visits for sure. Highly highly recommend for any event or simply just a weekend away, you will not be disappointed! We stayed in Castlemartyr for a week over the February midterm. We absolutely loved it. The kids club was fantastic. The pool is in a beautiful setting. Food was absolutely delicious. Driving into the resort felt like entering another world. We would definitely recommend.

Excellent hotel and friendly warm staff, food is the restaurant is incredible. We had a beautiful relaxing experience. We will be back again. Thank you Lisa

I have not been writing too many reviews of late, but Castlemartyr deserves an exceptional review. I had arrived pretty late, about 8:30 PM, after a 30-hour flight and was quite exhausted. The check-in was easy and quick, thankfully, but then the coddling began. Trevor, the manager who seems to be omnipresent throughout the institution, was walking me to check in and, after learning that I had had a long day, enquired whether I wanted any food. I replied yes, and that my friend was at the Knight's bar waiting to have a quick drink with me before I retired. He insisted on accompanying me to the bar and taking our food order. I got the simple steak with mashed potatoes and settled in. Trevor said, "I will make an exception and have the kitchen send you the food here. We do not usually serve at the bar. However, you are very tired, and I would not like you to be hassled by the families and noise in the restaurant. Please stay here where you can relax." And so it began, the exceptional service. This is not a review on the rooms, fantastic, the food, exceptional, the grounds that our out of magazine cover, just about the heart of Castlemartyr, its exceptional service. The next day, I met Gerard, who also seemed to appear magically, and we started by my asking if we could order some Sneem black pudding. At first, he was taken aback by this strange request, and then we settled into a conversation about black puddings, how they are cooked, and more. He first had to get permission from the Executive Chef to cook it in the kitchen, and then had to figure out how to order it for me. So off he went, and we met about 4 hours later. He had chatted with Executive Chef Kevin Burke, a tall, lanky man with a perpetual smile, and arranged a tasting. The chef had some similar blood sausage from High BYrne butchers in the fridge, and Gerard had organised a tasting for us. As we met with the chef, we chatted amiably, and his curiosity about this strange request was mollified. The next morning, as I arrived fr breakfast, the staff informed me that the chef had made a special breakfast for me with the sausage. I was delighted to get to taste it again; it was superb. This is the service that permeates the resort: a genuine fondness for the customer. Trevor and Gerard are the bastions of exceptional warmth, an Irish hospitality par excellence. In today's fractured world, this institution stands apart in both the expectation and performance of service. Thank you, Trevor, Gerard, and each and every member of the excellent staff who made my stay at the resort spectacular.

We went to celebrate a friend's retirement. Service was second to none. Food was fantastic. Staff were excellent. Special shout out to Katie. We WILL be back.
