Stayed for a weekend in August paid aprox 750 euro for 2 night b&b 2 adults 1 child and 1 dog. Beautiful grounds, the hotel is very impressive. Some signs of wear, grout in shower, etc. Beds are very comfy and great to have a dog friendly room. You can even get your own little gated garden for your durry friend, thwy are allowed in common spaces but not in eating areas. Breakfast is amazing and super staff! The general manager was around on both mornings, working hard and cooked to order breakfasts, beautiful smoothies, pancakes, fresh pastries, lots of cereal, and fruit. Great selection of breads. Room is very spacious and luxurious. My issue was around the bar and food options mainly. Clearly, great chefs available given that there is a Michelin star restaurant and the super breakfast, but the bar is just so poor. It's too small with very limited seating and feels soulless. Young staff in here, takes forever to order anything and really limited food menu. On reading reviews, I felt I didn't need to reserve dinner 1st night as I wouldn't dine in Michelin star with a child. We approached the restaurant after getting all dressed up and were told they were full and couldn't accommodate us until after 8.30pm, which obviously didn't suit young children. We were told we might be better suited to the bar, I felt a little insulted as I eat in very fine dining establishments regularly and my son is well used to these surroundings and knows how to behave. The bar menu was so limited that we chose to go to Midelton instead and had a great meal. Had lunch here the following day it took 45 mins to get basic soup and sambo combo. You feel like you are sitting in a lobby and there doesn't seem to be any of the hotels mature staff working here. Constantly chasing for drinks, salt, menus. I wouldn't let this stop me coming back and really enjoyed the fabulous ground for walks, the animals, the golf facilites. Its all fabulous. I wouldn't come again when a wedding on as on both nights we were awoken by loud drunk groups heading to and from bar shouting and singing. 1st night we accepted there was a wedding but 2nd night it happened again. Midweek would be better. In summary, fabulous hotel and facilites. Most of the staff were super kind and friendly especially the guys outside the door, a great bit of craic, always a smile and a few words. Bar needs improving, space, menu and staff and late night guests should have to respect others. Will definitely back.Breakfaat was 10 out of 10.

I find it difficult leaving this review because I really like Castlemartyr Resort. The building and the interior are really lovely. It is very near us so very handy for bringing friends and family. However in the last couple of months there is always something that leaves us disappointed. A few months ago it was the restaurant in the golf club. Shockingly poor food and no acknowledgment when mentioned to staff. Last night it was the bar in Canopy. This is the third visit which has disappointed us. My husband ordered the prawn tacos for €27. Two tacos arrived with a bowl of boiled potatoes . We thought it was a mistake but said nothing. My son and his partner ordered the sharing plate for €34 and were going to get something else. It arrived with a couple of crackers and half slices of poorly toasted stale white bread. They asked for relish and got a pot of stewed apple. My son said it’s the last time he goes in there. Just very disappointed for them and for myself.

Absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the fantastic service and over the top hospitality at Castlemartyr! We recently had our wedding with 70 guests from the US staying on site there for four days and the accommodated every single unusual request we had! Sakshi, our coordinator, was phenomenally responsive and adaptive and calm to work with. The concierge team handled not one but two complicated room drops for all 70 of our guests that held really important information (when our surprise wedding ceremony was taking place) with ease + professionalism. I had my hair done by Alice at the spa, who was calm and easy to work with hours before the big party and I love how my hair turned out! The bar manager Barry was a delight and so friendly throughout all of our events. Kay, the F&B manager brought unmatched energy to each party with a big smile on her face and we felt so taken care of by hotel manager Paul. Jerry, the concierge, was available at a moment's notice any time we called down. We hosted a few wild events- a second line parade with a brass band, a pajama party ceremony in the garden, a scavenger hunt sending our friends all over the property on a wild goose chase for cocktails and snacks, a VERY LOUD talent show for all of our guests- and Castlemartyr just rolled with all of it happily and enthusiastically. Our family dinner at Chef's Table has been the talk of our family, many of them put it in the best meals they've ever had. Many of us work in hospitality and food and beverage and this is no small feat! The room service was quick and top notch- I had goujons every day that we stayed there hahaha! Not only that but the ROOMS themselves! So extremely comfortable, luxurious and spacious (especially for european rooms!) We cannot wait to come back to Castlemartyr for years to come. Thank you thank you thank you for changing our lives and changing our family & friends lives by showing us all SUCH a good time! Life is how it should be at Castlemartyr and we are so lucky to have experienced it!

Welcoming and friendly as well as helpful and attentive staff. Clean and luxurious rooms and building. Lots of beautiful facilities to keep everyone happy and relaxed. Even the room service felt like a luxurious event. The food was high quality with a great selection. Wish we could have stayed longer.
