Just returned home from our first golf trip to Ireland with Castlemartyr as our base. Everything was organised by Ashley Mullan who was an outstanding person, and she fixed hotel booking, golf and transport daily, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff are warm and welcoming The hotel is very nice and we stayed in the old part with a big bedroom and it is perfect for a quiet break. We had some housekeeping issues which Ashley fixed quickly but they should not have happened. Dinner in the main restaurant was excellent. Nice golf course and very central for Cork, Fota Island and Old Head. Superb local eating places in Midleton, which is 9 miles away. Also there is an excellent local taxi service called Midleton Cabs and ask for Seanie who looked after us all week. We will definitely return to Castlemartyr.

I stayed here with my husband for our wedding anniversary for 2 nights using escapes vouchers. The hotel is amazing - it's setting is a joy to walk around. Our room was the best room I have ever been in - the photos on the website do not do justice to it. All the furnishings Are very tastefully done, the dressing room is gorgeous and the bathroom was amazingly fabulous. Breakfast was scrumptious with lots to choose from - hot food is served to order. All the staff were wonderful especially Gerard who brought our bags to our room and showed us how everything worked. We ate dinner in Knights Bar and the food was excellent. We both loved our stay in this fantastic hotel - thank you

Good place. room was excellent. Thought breakfast was free, but was not. not a lot to do on site. if you use the pool you need a bathing cap which was 3 euro. Far from things. had to drive at least 1 hour to enjoy the sites.
