Perfect trip

Amazing stay. The staff were incredible, made it feel like a chalet, warm, relaxed and friendly. Reception booked all of our restaurants and understood our requirements perfectly, great meals. Nothing was too much to ask. Room was comfortable and clean. We had a great view of the pistes. Breakfast was good, another example of friendly easygoing staff. There is ski rental within the hotel, a very knowledgable and jolly man. Made skiing as a beginner far less scary. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Wonderful experience; great location; terrific breakfast; friendly staff

My adult and I stayed here for a week in March and had a great experience. Booking was easy, and as I picked the flexible rate option, it was also easy to change my arrival date when my flight plans subsequently changed. The staff was uniformly helpful, courteous, friendly, and professional; everyone spoke English if that is relevant to you. We had a twin-bed room facing the slopes. It was modest in size, but enough for our needs. The bathroom was separated into a toilet room, and a shower/sink room, which worked out great. Housekeeping came daily and kept everything clean and restocked. We had a small fridge and coffee maker. We emptied the fridge and stored our own goods, which was handy. The bathroom had a very good towel warmer which for us doubled as a drying rack for hand-washed garments and worked great. There is a modest elevator which seemed efficient and came quickly. It can hold four adults but not much more. Breakfast was buffet style in a very nice dining area overlooking the main lobby. The staff brought coffee quickly (espresso, cappuccino, latte or drip coffee, plus assorted teas) and kept the buffet well stocked. The buffet was great: hot items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and a DYI egg-boiler), and cold items (breads, pasties, local cheeses, charcuterie, yoghurts and granolas as well as fresh fruit and juices). There was also a small menu of optional items with a surcharge (omelettes, porridge, etc.) but we never used it. There is a ski room where you can store all your equipment. You can also rent from there, or from Intersport which is just outside the hotel and down the street 30 meters. The ski room manager was very friendly and helpful, and each morning we consulted him re weather, wind, and resort conditions, and he would give helpful advice about where to go and where to avoid. The location is definitely ski-in/out. To get to the slopes, you walk out the ski room and up a slight incline into an access run which goes to the Verdon/Chenus gondola station. The return is just as easy. The 1850 village is just down the hill and extremely easy to reach. It's also a very quick walk (6 minutes?) to the free bus service which reaches other parts of Courchevel. Walking back to the hotel does require going uphill, but it is not arduous. Overall - a great experience and we would definitely come back.

For a £700 a night hotel this is the worst I’ve encountered.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The breakfast was atrocious, not just because of the £700 per night cost, but vs any hotel. An extra £5 for an egg, or £14 for orange juice is taking the piss. In the room 1 bottle of water was for free, the rest you pay for. Again, in a £700 per night hotel that is plainly ridiculous. The toiletries in the room were watered down to within an inch of their life. The rooms were tatty, scuffed paint, paint peeling, lights flickering.
