Incredibly beautiful hotel, among the best we've visited. We arrived late at night and were kindly upgraded to a bungalow room with a private pool (highly recommended). Despite the late hour, they accommodated us with a fabulous dinner. Dinner at the Old Mill the next night was an incredible Cretan Festival with perfect wine pairings. Unprompted, they even replaced a magazine I put in a small window to block the intense Mediterranean morning sun with blackout drapes. Nice touch! I could go on and on. Just stay here. It's wonderful.

Love Love love this place, it is so special to my husband and I - both the position of the hotel and all the wonderful people who work in it. This is why we keep going back !! From the sea to the food and all the different choices of restaurants you really can't fail to have a good time. A great range of sports or you can simply relax and be looked after.

Over 25 years since we last visited this hotel but it was as good as we remembered. Warm friendly welcome from the reception staff who were helpful throughout our 10 day stay.Had an excellent pool suite room ( no 9 ) which was very luxurious with great views and kept in great condition by the friendly housekeeping and pool staff. Hotel and grounds are extensive and beautiful with a great pool area and a very clean beach with good facilities and a well run beach bar providing tasty snacks on the beach, Being part of a group of hotels we enjoyed the facilities of the other hotels- the spa was excellent , friendly staff, lovely setting and great massages enjoyed by wife and myself.Enjoyed a couple of meals at Aglio e Olio which were most enjoyable as were several meals at The Old Mill restaurant where the service was always excellent and great choice of wine and food. The sommelier was very professional with great suggestions and detailed knowledge of all the wines so it was great to try out local Cretan wines. We loved the pianist who played an extensive range of music of all genres and was quite happy to play requests. The Friday fish night at the yacht Club was very good with an extensive range of fishy items ranging from sushi, caviar to mussels , lobster and much more. Being on half board we ate breakfasts and some dinners at the Deck restaurant which was enjoyable and then had credits for the other restaurants which is a good arrangement. Staff there were again excellent and friendly with special mention to Marina .The meals and drinks are not cheap but it is a top 5 star hotel and taxes are higher in Greece so just enjoy ! We enjoyed a swim before breakfast from the beach across the bay and climbing out on a white pole ladder which could be improved. The step ladders used on the next hotel would be much better and easier to use. All in all a great holiday and hope to be returning before long .

An excellent end for summer 2017 Greece tour! We knew this is our hotel just one minute after entering the reception area and chatting with a receptionist lady with a great sense of humour. Though this is a five star hotel she was not too formal but nice and funny, we later learnt that she worked as a teacher previously, perhaps that was the reason for her excellent knowledge of human nature. Diamond, as also other personnel at the reception. The interior design of this hotel is magnificant, very personal style and a lot of wood used - you almost feel that you are in an cruise ship in old times when men were iron and ships were wood and not the other way round as nowadays. We also loved our room (Deluxe room with own pool), the interior design was personal with a colorful kilim carpet, a red armchair and white chalk painted fire place - when (after retirement) we permanently move to Greece our house will be this style! The hotel was peaceful although there were kids (we choose adult only hotels whenever possible), it is obvious that British and French children have better upbringing compared to Finnish ones. We could enjoy a beutiful view to Mirabello bay from our private ground area with some flowers and bushes. Food in restaurants was good, we mainly are at Yacht Club because of half board. One night we had dinner at Cretan culinary restaurant - food was good and service was excellent but we felt that it was a bit overpriced - one of the advantages living in Finland is that you hardly ever feel that way...😀 As a summary, a very good experience and most likely we'll be back!!! Ps. Scorpius was only partly visible due to high mountains but luckily we could see Antares about 10-11 pm

This was a wonderful relaxing week right on the water front . The food was quite excellent and the service was all you could expect. This hotel is in it's own bay and very secluded. One of the best rooms to have is room 11 which has it's own plung pool and decking to enjoy the views
