Review of Hotel Crillon Le Brave

It’s a very nice hotel, very charming and old world. I stayed there on 2 occasions while in Provence. Our second stay we had room #1. It was ok. But it was in the front of the hotel and pretty loud at night (bells on the hour or more frequently and guests returning from their evenings), and the hot water was poor. The restaurant was pretty good. But I wouldn’t want to stay here again unless I had a better room in the back.

A charming stay in Provence

Amazing stay. Staffs are friendly and helpful from check in to the reception to the restaurant. The rooms are lovely with newly furnished bathrooms. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Highly recommend for a stay in Provence. 5/5 star service and property.

Charming 5 star luxury

5 star Charming hideaway I visited July 2022 but forgotten to post this overdue review. It was an anniversary trip for us and our stay was perfect- location, service, amenities. It’s not a big property but it was very charming and serene. We had a suite which offered a lovely view and Le Labo bath amenities and really enjoyed the breakfast spread each morning. Best if you have a car but I think this is the case for most hotels in the area.

Beautiful hotel in Provence

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

We had a lovely and relaxing short holiday in this beautiful hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated and had amazing views. All staff speak good English and are very helpful. We visited at late October but the outdoor pool was still open (28degrees), the hotel’s Michelin star restaurant was already closed for the winter but its more informal restaurant was open. There is a simple room service menu and the bar does some snacks as well. Our experience of the Le table du Ventoux restaurant was mixed. The service was very friendly but the food was a slightly disappointing. I had a fish of the day which was monkfish. It was beautifully cooked but was swimming in a butter sauce, a bit like a soup. Not sure why anyone would like to eat so much sauce… my husband’s chicken was a bit dry. We had a good recommendation from the concierge to visit a vineyard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The car valet people were always very helpful and the hotel has a turndown service. One nice extra was a free soft drinks at the minibar.

Do not believe them if they try to “upgrade” your room.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

I checked into this hotel on 10/20 for a milestone birthday trip, and we paid 3 nights for a suite with a big terrace (which the photos showed), which was a deal breaker for us. Upon check in, we were notified that we were “upgraded” to a room without a terrace, and with a pretty bad look. The room was extremely dated and not what we asked for. It felt like a major downgrade. They said that if we don’t specifically tell them that we want a room with a terrace (even though all the photos of this room are with a terrace) they would not guarantee one. They tried to “upgrade” us again to another room, and our two options were either a room with a small balcony but with a strange vibe, or a smaller room with windows that don’t open at all. We decided to cut our stay short to just 1 night, without any discount for the night we stayed in at a worse room. This entire experience was very stressful for us after days of travelling and being exhausted. So just a reminder for everyone that if they try to “upgrade” you, don’t believe them at face value and reminder not to say yes unless you have all the right information.

We have just returned from our vacation in Europe, which included three-nights at Hostellerie de Crillon le Brave in France. It was in every way all that we expected - the facilities are wonderful, the people are friendly and helpful, and the food was out of this world! Thanks again.

The Hostellerie Crillon de Brave is a wonderful place in Provence, a little out of the usual tourist fare, and exquisite. Upon arrival we were given an upgrade to almost an apartment with views over lavender fields. The restaurant was exquisite, food fabulous and service very friendly and accommodating...

Hostellerie de Crillon le Brave is a beautiful and relatively central place from which to explore northwestern Provence. The Hostellerie itself is well-restored with modern amenities, yet quiet, secluded and full of medieval, old-world charm. Our stay was enchanting.
