My husband and parents and I stayed at the Palacio Nazarenas while in Cusco. We debated between Monasterio (which is literally next door) and Nazarenas but ultimately chose Nazarenas after reading that it was smaller and more intimate of the two. The rooms are gorgeous - they have the old charm but with modern comforts. The breakfast buffet is great with lots of fresh fruit and delicious quinoa pancakes. We had one miserable night in one of the rooms where the air conditioning was broken. While the staff did their best to fix the A/C that night, we ended up having a completely sleepless night. The next day a technician came out to fix the A/C and after confirming that there was indeed a malfunction with the unit, the hotel manager issued us a complete refund for the night! Despite the missed night of sleep, because of the staff's responsiveness and professionalism I would still highly recommend this hotel.

We had a junior suite, with windows through very thick walls, to a series of different small gardens. The maze of pathways led to really beautiful buildings and open areas...one with the main restaurant which served beautiful meals. The building itself is entirely unprepossessing from the street, but behind the front door - tranquility itself. One of the better hotels we've stayed in around the world.

I booked this hotel a night before my arrival, i was initially booked to travel to Ecuador, but couldn’t because I didn’t have yellow fever vaccination certificate with me! the night before my arrival, concierge helped me get train tickets to the Hiram Bingham train going to Machu Picchu and booked airport transportation and local guide for me. They upgraded me upon arrival, I had a lovely spacious room overlooking the pool and town. Staff were amazing and very helpful. Concierge again helped me with me with my flight ticket. The hotel is nicely restored and decorated elegantly. Old world charm. Even though it was a bit chilly, I had breakfast by the pool, staff made sure to bring me a blanket! Many little gestures like this made fall in love with this place. It’s been a while since a hotel treated me like this! And I’ve been around! This was my second trip to Cusco, the first time was at the other Belmond, but I wasn’t fond of their hotel or service.

Upon arrival for our 2 night stay, I was presented with a bouquet of flowers which was lovely. We had a deluxe city view suite that was absolutely amazing. Extremely spacious with a large outside balcony overlooking the restaurant and pool (heated, but we didn't try it as the air was rather chilly), the room was in immaculate condition with tasteful furnishings, a large bathroom with 2 hand basins and a walk-in wardrobe. The items in the minibar are complementary. Breakfast was adequate but not quite as good as the other Belmond Hotels in Peru that we had visited. We had dinner and that was excellent in the quality of food and its presentation. There was live entertainment, musicians and dancers during dinner. The hotel is located very near the main plaza of Cusco with shops and restaurants nearby. Service from all the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. I only wish we had had more time here. What a fabulous hotel.

I recently stayed at the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco and can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The attention to detail is exceptional ((Hotel water bottles included in the turndown service), the rooms are luxurious and the staff are amazingly attentive. What I most enjoyed is the fact that the service was personal without being overbearing. Should I have the opportunity to return to Cusco this is a hotel I would re-visit without hesitation. Interestingly, next door to this hotel is another Belmond which is set in a 500 year old monastery which is beautiful. Both hotels are quite different and are worth looking at before you choose, however both are excellent.
