Reviews for JW Marriott El Convento Cusco

Good location and service

A beautiful hotel in the heart of Cusco with a lot of history. The hotel itself is very cool once you enter the lobby as it was an old monastery . Our room was very comfortable and large and we appreciated the additional oxygen pumping in. The service was very friendly. The relaxation pool and amenities were top notch.

Exactly where you need to stay in Cuzco!

Hotel has all the amenities you need after long days hiking and going on tours. Rooms are cleaned perfectly, our room attendant Martha was amazing. Refreshing towels, chocolate and waters daily. Our arrival set us up for the entire trip with Celeste at the desk. She made sure to make us feel welcomed as well as saying hello to us every night. She is definitely your rockstar at the desk. Cynthia noticed we needed help locating your spa, she walked us all the way there. Shoutout to Cynthia! Also want to mention how amazing that you have a baby alpaca in the mornings. Her owner was super sweet and took very good care of her. She never asked for any tip money and greeted us with a warm smile every morning.

Our new home in Cusco, Peru

JW Marriott never disappoints! This Cusco property was stunning - a true testament to history and impeccable service. We were upgraded to a suite, and it was amazing. For our early 5:30 AM Machu Picchu tour booked through Viator, the hotel went above and beyond, providing us with to-go breakfast boxes since the buffet didn't start until 6 AM. While there wasn't a lounge, they generously offered us two complimentary Pisco Sours each day. We appreciated the high-altitude health tips regarding alcohol and caffeine, but the breakfast buffet itself was phenomenal - one of the best we've ever experienced. The staff's attentiveness was unmatched. They constantly checked in to see if there was anything they could do to elevate our stay, and truly, nothing was lacking. We even enjoyed fun cultural experiences like learning to make ceviche and Pisco Sours! Finally, at our last breakfast, they surprised us with a heartwarming gift and "until we meet again" message, leaving a truly lasting impression.

Unmatched Hospitality, The Most Genuine Care - GRACIAS!

JW Marriott El Convento Cusco is simply the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff is truly the heart of this beautiful landmark in the magnificent city of Cusco, Peru. Virgilio at the front desk spotted us as soon as we got off the taxi and received us with open arms. The entire staff recognized our presence with eye contact and smiles upon walking in to the lobby. Throughout our stay, everyone on property acknowledged us and made us feel welcomed. Jesus at the front desk also went above and beyond and took the time to have an unforgettable gesture towards my mother and make this trip the most memorable one. Rodrigo at the bar, the Pisco Master, gave us a priceless Pisco history lesson. The entire staff at the restaurant, the gentlemen part of the Loss Prevention staff, and the ladies in the courtyard that were kind enough to give us the best time with their alpacas, THANK YOU. A special mention also to the Housekeeping staff who, in spite of how busy they were, they took the time to acknowledge us with a smile and gave us their full attention in case we needed anything.

Worth extra money, location close to action.

Lovely, clean and the room is quiet. You control the temperature. The bed is so comfortable. Filtered water filling stations throughput the building. All staff have been thoughtful and accommodating to my needs. There is a spa but unfortunately they don’t do dips or gel nails. Pool available. Bar, restaurant and outside private courtyard. Very calming from the noise and commotion outside the facility.

One of the best hotels I've ever experienced. A hidden treasure blended with beauty and luxury with a modern lifestyle touch, tucked away in a city rich in culture.

Of the many fine attributes of the JW Marriott Cusco, the blending of historical architecture with modern comforts and high design is most unusual and perfectly executed. From the soft lighting to the rich dark woods and stone in the public areas, the understated atmosphere distinguishes itself as belonging uniquely to the Cusco property. And that holds true all the way to the lower levels where the lovely spa is intimately nestled. Not only was the staff properly warm, friendly and bi-lingual, but equally important highly skilled at their duties (which is surprisingly not always the case in fine hotels).
