This hotel is hands the best and our most favorite ever. We travel a lot and and are platinum members. Twice we have stayed here and used our points and both times we were treated wonderfully. The staff here are all trained so very well. The hotel is just spectacular even with inclement weather still just beautiful. Nothing is too much trouble. Impeccable service. Will definitely return and can’t wait.

We spent 4 nights at the resort as felt no need to leave. We traveled with the intention to relax and it ticked all boxes. No matter the weather, there is somewhere to relax and something to do! The staff were absolutely delightful and so attentive. Must try the deaf monkey cocktail from the long bar. We were celebrating my partners 40th and the team made him feel very special! Thanks especially to Abbas!

This hotel is just pure first class. The rooms all come with spectacular views that you may never see again in your life time. The quality of the beds, the bedding, the toiletries, the wood, the shower, the bath are all like you have never seen before. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. It is relaxing and inviting and an experience you won't want to forget! I would highly recommend going.

In the US, this particular property is not well known. It receives excellent reviews and awards, but now much coverage by American media. We found this property by accident thru viewing some vlogs on Youtube. We reserved quite a bit of time in advance of our stay. We used an Intercontinental Ambassador 2 for 1 weekend night certificate and 3 award nights. We were upgraded to a Terrace Suite on the Sky level. We were allowed to stay in the suite, our whole stay, probably because the hotel occupancy was quite low. I would recommend a Terrace Suite as the best value room type to book. We arrived at about 9PM. We had a late flight from Hanoi and there was no way to get around being on late flight. We had come off a Halong bay cruise. The hotel knew our arrival time and were waiting for us. We were escorted to our room. The front desk clerk explained everything about our room and the resort. We did not have dinner on the plane and were interested in something to eat. We walked into the Barefoot restaurant, and they said go to the Long Bar. The bartender said their food comes from Barefoot and to go back. Meanwhile the sign said they closed at 1030PM and it was 1015PM. Then they said to use room service. We didn't want to eat in the room. Finally, they let us order a salad and a pizza. Which was all we really wanted, a light meal. The food was good, but the rigmarole was not a good first impression. I did not knock down my rating for this incident, as the rest of stay, everything went very well. Our suite was gorgeous and very quiet. We were on the Sky level and about 500 feet to the tram. I really love the intensive design and theming that went into this resort. I really enjoyed our suite. I have read many comments that say the Terrace Suite isn't really a suite. The way it is laid out isn't a traditional suite, but the square footage is definitely suite-sized! Our bathroom was larger than most apartments in Hong Kong. The bed was king size and the center piece of the room. There are windows along 3 sides of the suite. There is a wrap around deck, with very nice furniture. The bathroom has a 12 foot vanity with 2 sinks. There is a fancy stone step into the bath tub. Beside it, there is an open shower with a unique wood floor. The toilet is in its own room. There is a huge wardrobe, that contains just about anything you might forget. There are 2 places to place your luggage and unpack them. I loved that since it seems so many hotels only provide 1 luggage rack. Basically for 2 people, this room is huge. You won't be tripping over each other or your luggage and personal items. If you have a family of 4 then a room larger than a Terrace Suite may be needed. But for most, the Terrace Suite is a great room, that usually is priced right. The beach is one of the nicest that I have seen. Not because the beach is over the top, but because of the services that are included. But the beach isn't shabby, by any means! There are mats on the sand so you can go to a beach chair and not get sand on your feet. The beach is very clean and the attendants should have anything you might have forgotten. We liked the pool above the Long Bar. Especially in the evening as this pool has a view of the sunset. We ate in each restaurant. We found the food to be very high quality and service was always excellent. I will review 1888 and Citron separately. Prices were 5 star hotel level, but we knew that going in, and never regretted the prices. We always feel that we may never return to a place and that we should enjoy every feature at a resort or city. Everything from food to drinks was always tasty and beautifully presented. The breakfast buffet in Citron is a little pricey, but the spread of food is extensive. One could eat breakfast a little later and then have an early dinner. The breakfast buffet was a better value than the Club lounge. Especially if you are not big drinkers. The Harnn Spa is the nicest spa that I have ever received treatments. Each treatment room is a small 3 room pavilion. There is the treatment area, a tub/pool area, rest room/ shower, and small reception area in each pavilion. Treatments were, I think priced competitively and there were specials. I had a facial and foot message and they were great treatments. We did do some sightseeing from the resort. It is about an hour to Hoi An. If this is your only stay in central Vietnam, then you must go to Hoi An. It is a beautiful, unique place and the food is excellent and cheap. We did not use the lounge at the airport as we had a car and driver take us to Hue. We then fly out of Hue. Overall, this is a very nice property. Much nicer than most Intercontinentals. The level of service is very high, much higher than most 5 star properties. The resort has really talented, professional, and friendly employees, who cheerfully, go out of their way to help guests. There are other 5 star hotels in Da Nang, but they usually are more expensive than this property. I really feel this property is an excellent value, using cash and/or points. On a last note, I have suggestions to management. You need at least one restaurant that serves food, even light snacks, to at least 11PM, preferably midnight. The resort is isolated with no nearby restaurants. I do not like room service and I know many other people who feel the same way. This resort needs at least 1 more restaurant. Something fancier than Barefoot, but not as expensive as Maison 1888. Otherwise the resort really has everything one needs on vacation!
