PER AQUUM Niyama Maldives in Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives

Forty miles by seaplane from its legendary Per AQUUM sister, Niyama is a covet-worthy newcomer. You’ll find every bit of deserted island dream fodder here – tucked-away lounge areas that invite a nap by the water, overwater bungalows, infinity pools and a turquoise-heavy color palate that blends right into the horizon – but the array of indulgent activities also attracts a hip and active crowd.

Snack on fresh fruits brought to you by your private butler while floating on a daybed in your bungalow’s infinity pool. Explore the reefs on a catamaran, slicing through waves and anchoring in deep water to explore the ocean life below. Venture into the jungle for dinner, feasting on an African-South American fusion carne asada roasted on a hot rock. Then behold the most amazing place you will ever dance: the world’s first underwater bar, where the DJ’s global beats match the rhythm of the aquatic patrons outside.

Tears sprang to my eyes on approach to Niyama - our first time to the Maldives and this place looks already amazing...we are greeted by a group of people that were so warm immediately feeling like this is going to be the most amazing time of my life - I am proved right! This island is amazing...we stayed in an overwater villa with pool & spa - wow!! We are so lucky to be in a villa that captures both sunrise & sunset - its exceptional! The kids club is amazing - our kids are 9 & 11 - the 9yr old loved it more but the 11yr loved the trampoline as thats his thing! The sunset at the beach bar should not be missed - its probably the best view on the island....the restaurants are amazing - but our fussy 9yr old liked to eat at Epicure as it had the most variety...Epicure is by far my fave breakfast place in the world! choices are endless and staff are amazing! The addition of a Thakaru (friendly butler) is fantastic and helpful for organizing you...who wants to think on this kind of holiday! The water is warm but not too warm...perfection....we saw sharks, turtles, octopus, so many fish and manta rays - all around our villa...what an experience! You can not go past Niyama - it is a holiday that you have to have at least once in your life to know what paradise feels like....don't forget to look up into the endless stars at night and count the shooting stars - never have I seen so many!

This resort has it all - from romance and tranquility, to amazing restaurants, fun activities and the best Kids Club ever! The Takuru Laith has gone the extra mile all the time, and the babysitter Katrin has simply been the most qualified and wonderful babysitter we ever had!

Just for comparison, we travel for a hobby and always stay at 5 star or better properties and usually do Four Seasons, One and Only, Aman hotels, or St Regis. We came across Niyama a couple years ago and it blows all the above away in the Maldives. You never get bored which is common with an island resort. There are 7 different restaurants including a tree house and one in the middle of the ocean that serves gourmet food. The chef there is new and is even better than the last one. The staff is wonderful and kudo's to Anwar (our thakuru), Haf and Ashraf. The resort is a great health and wellness destination. They even had a famous Plastic surgeon doing Botox and filler in residence. They also imported a celebrity trainer from Hollywood. WOW! Everything was amazing!

This is our 7th visit to Niyama. This place is not just a 5 star vacation but truly a place we call home. The staff make our trip. I am so overwhelmed with love with their kindness. Anwar can do a million things at once and always makes you feel you are the only guest at the resort, he's amazing in every way. Ashraf is a fabulous resort manager with so much sophistication with a smile that's contagious, no matter how busy he is. Haf is the manager, and is simply amazing at what he does. I look forward to breakfast every morning to see my adorable Teddy. Christmas and New Year was one of the best we have ever experienced at a resort. The restaurants have a different vibe at different locations. I love the jazz music band after dinner. Niyama is the only resort that has a visiting plastic surgeon from Beverly Hills that provides Botox and fillers. I believe he will be back for Easter. This is the only resort that thinks outside the box. Until next time my Niyama family šŸ˜

We stayed in this hotel in a family villa with 2 kids of 6 & 12 yo. To say that it was the best vacation would be an understatement - it was just perfect! Marvelous scenery & ocean, fantastic villa with every detail well thought, great service and plenty of entertainment - fishing, snorkeling, yoga, spa, the best kids club , etc.
