We have been visiting the One & Only Royal Mirage as a family and with friends since 1999. The hotel is low-rise with beautiful gardens and immaculately kept beach. The staff are always helpful and courteous. However I think this will be our last visit. As mentioned in 1 or 2 previous reviews that I wish I had taken note of, the appalling noise from too many jetskis to count coupled with the loud party noise from boats anchored off the beach has completely ruined what should have been a relaxing long weekend break. Despite many clients' complaints, the hotel's response is that there is nothing they can do. Well - there is something we can do which is vote with our feet and take our money elsewhere to the many other beautiful hotels in this region. Sad and disappointed but unless you like sunbathing next to a race track - try somewhere else.

I'm not one for writing reviews, but having spent 9 days at the Arabian Court I felt compelled to share a little of our trip. Every good hotel must start with the quality of their staff, how they do it I don't know but every single member of the team was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. From booking trips, helping choose the next restaurant, putting towels out ready by the pool, there was someone there to help. We chose the AC based on the design and layout of the hotel and we were spot on. We're not ones for big high rise flashy buildings, this is really charming and very much in keeping with an Arabic feel. They spend a huge amount of time time keeping everything spotless, and have produced some wonderful gardens with increadible palm trees set into the swimming pools, the private1km beach also a real priverlage. I highly recommend a stroll along its length first thing in the morning, nothing quite like it to start the day..You need to know its a family resort but it wasn't remotely unruly and the kids all appeared to have a fantastic time. It you want some more tranquility then book into the Residence next door, and have the best of both worlds. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel and we're just looking to book to return at Christmas...

We stayed at the hotel for the Easter holidays for 5 days and found it to be great. A very stylish modern Arabian-style hotel. Spacious, tastefully decorated rooms, well-kept and clean, with a balcony looking out onto Palm Island bay. We had two communicating rooms, which was very convenient, as we shared the common corridor with the children. Rooms service excellent and discrete. Hotel staff extremely friendly and always helpful. Got a very good advise about the excursions from the Guest Service desk. Very good restaurants, we tried EauZone and Bar&Grill. The seabass at Bar&Grill was excellent. The breakfast was stunning at the Rotisserie. We even tasted a new egg-made dish, something between omelet, fried-egg and swiss rösti, called by a French-speaking cook "un oeuf créole". Delicious! The only downside was "spa facilities" at SPA&Residence, too small and without a jacuzzi, but everything else made up for it. Children loved wakeboarding and all of us enjoyed a swimming pool. Perfect experience.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights as a friend had highly recommended. The room and the bathroom was quite big and had all the amenities. There are a couple pools but I preferred the sea and the beach. Service is quite good and we felt pampered. Sometimes too much though. The sunset is amazing. We ate at the Indian restaurant one night and the butter chicken was amazing. The green areas are plenty and it is peaceful. Because of the location of the hotel, there is quite boat and ski jet traffic especially after 5 pm and it becomes quite noisy.

It has a low profile with lots of interior and exterior relaxing spots. Pros. Staff- unfailing helpful and obliging Rooms- so well maintained with staff checking the rooms twice a day. Pool- warm and large with staff attending to every need- water , towels, fruit, cool washers, sunglasses cleaned etc Food - we had half board and found breakfast great with food replenished constantly, dirty dishes quickly removed. The evening meals were, as to be expected, buffets Grounds- well maintained with plenty of walking paths to get a little exercise on The beach- well maintained with plenty of lounges, warm sea, clean sand Cons *very dark in night time meals area *food not labelled at the buffet * noisy jet skis that can be heard even in the rooms Would we stay again- a definite yes!
