Located within walking distance to the old city, this hideaway is the perfect escape from the crowds. Built into the side of a cliff, you arrive at the top floor and descend to your rooms, the restaurant, pool and "beach." Service is exceptional, the staff is professional and very accommodating. The rooms are spacious, with very fluffy robes, nice bath tub and shower. The breakfast is out standing. Our favorite was the roof top bar, which features breathtaking sunset views of the old city. We ate several meals at the hotel because old town was just too busy and crowded. All the meals were excellent. This setting is luxurious and relaxing. Concierge was also very helpful arranging tours of the area. Highly recommend. Romantic and relaxed.

A private wooden Venetian taxi to town. That is why I booked it. It far exceeded expectations. First, the people are actually happy and respond to any request with "Of Course" or "No problem at all". USA could take some lessons. The internet works better than my home internet. For breakfast, you order anything you want off the menu. The view is to die for. The rocky beach looks just like the movies. Everyone goes by on their boats and wishes they were staying here. Wait we are staying here. The waiters were so joyful and happy. Marco who worked the rocky beach was so nice. I owe him an apology. I asked for an umbrella one day. I was planning to stay there all day and dream about how lucky I was to stay here. Then, 9 other couples requested umbrellas. Sorry Marco :)

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location overlooking the sea with a view of the old city. Located about 20 minutes walking time to the old city, so consider this if you are looking for something closer. (There is a water taxi - weather permitting - as well as a shuttle, but then you are tied to that schedule.) The entire staff was outstanding and service was faultless. This is a fairly new property, and the rooms were beautiful and more spacious than many luxury European hotels. The one thing that bothered me was the ridiculous design of the bathroom - not only were the toilet and bidet not separated from the area with the sink and combined shower/tub, but the walls of the bathroom were glass all around. There was a curtain that could be pulled to provide privacy between the main wall of the bathroom and the sleeping area, but none on the wall outside the bathroom - providing a direct line of sight from outside the bathroom to the toilet/bidet as well as the shower (I attached a photo). Honestly, who ever thought of this design?? Really awkward if you appreciate a little privacy on the toilet. On top of that, housekeeping came along a couple of times when one of us was in the shower or bathroom (i.e. for turndown service or something else) and we had to send them away since there was no privacy whatsoever. If this bothers you I would recommend looking at the few other luxury hotels which are on the same road, a bit closer to town and with similar views and amenities.

Croatia has a dearth of luxory resorts in general, I think because the rapidly exploding number of tourists visiting croatia has outstripped the ability of the tourist industry itself to grow. With that said, this resort is absolutely amazing, and it is truly a 5 star resort. We stayed there for three days, two nights, and everything from the room itself to the pool and the fitness area was wonderful. We actually wound up staying at the resort a lot because we werent particularly impressed with Dubrovnik close up. The staff was amazing and very professional, but not overly intrusive. We tried both the restaurant and the lounge. The restaurant was very classy but we actually preferred the lounge as the ambiance there was more to our liking(being from New York we are used to super fancy places so on vacation we like places that seem more chill). The only room for improvement that I can really sea may be the area next to the water. I understand that there are not a lot of sandy beaches in croatia but that area seemed a bit cramped. Other than that the hotel was exceptional and the nicest place we stayed during our vacation in Croatia.
