Just spent 3 nights at the Villa Dubrovnik. From the time I was met and transported by lift down the Cliffside to reception this stay was memorable in every way. Hotel room was spacious, light filled with ceiling to floor windows overlooking the bay and Lokrum Island. All the staff provided excellent service and nothing was too hard. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather and high seas, the boat tender into the Old City of Dubrovnik wasn't running, though I am told it is great. Bus shuttle was offered as replacement. Visited the restaurant for breakfast, great service and large, varied menu selection which was included in my nightly room cost. I would not look at staying anywhere else if I returned to Dubrovnik! Only downside - this is the first stop on my holiday and somehow I feel like no other accommodation is quite going to measure up. Thank you, Bronwyn

From the moment we reached the hotel, we were led on a journey of beautify views of the property and it's surroundings. Located along the picturesque coast of Croatia, the views that are seen from this location are nothing short of peace, tranquility and beauty. Having a room with a balcony of the Adriatic felt like we were on a cruise ship. The staff of the hotel were wonderful and the service excellent and they were some of the most pleasant and happy people we met in Croatia. Enjoy!

The villa is a 20 minute walk to the town, but they have that well sorted out with a mini bus which runs to Ploce Gate and back to a timetable. This made going into town very easy. We had the top floor room with a balcony and glass doors from the 'on the balcony' spa bath, which is lovely to relax in, with great views over Lokrum Island, with a look over the balcony you can see the walled city of Dubrovnik. The hotel provides everything you could need for a perfect 5 star holiday. The breakfast is served from 7 till 11 enabling a lazy start to the day. The food is cooked freshly for you and there is a good variety. The staff go out of their way to make sure you receive a personalised service, from the greeting we received at the lift from Roberto to the receptionists every time we wen past. There seemed to be a lot of staff for so early in the season ( the hotel had only been open a week when we arrived). Some of the staff seemed rather a loose end! One word of warning, the hotel is abiding by a very high standard of housekeeping which means if you store anything in the 'cleaning bag' drawer under the safe, the staff will go through your clothes to find the bag and ensure it is in situ! I found this out when I came back from breakfast to find the maid apparently sorting through my clothes. The housekeeper explained the situation well to us and I was satisfied after being quite upset by this. A couple of minor things would help me to accept the 5 star rating of this hotel. I gave stayed in 5 star hotels around the world and the room always comes equipped with a good coffee machine and supply of bags or pods... Nescafe sachets are for three stars! Allow the charging equipment to stay on in the room, its quite shocking that everything goes off when you leave your room with electronics plugged in to find them flat on your return. The window in my room from the bathroom had not been cleaned as when I allowed my spa bath to steam up to preserve my dignity from boats below...a message from previous guests appeared...amusing yes, but the hotel had only just opened from last season!

We had two nights here at the beginning of April and it was absolutely stunning. Everything about this hotel is polished. The hotel itself is gorgeous with all rooms having a view of the Adriatic sea looking back on the old city of Dubrovnik. The staff and service we experienced was excellent and they couldn't do enough for us. We had dinner one night at their Pjerin restaurant with the service, food and beautiful Croatian wines being outstanding. We stayed in a Deluxe double room which was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed, the balcony overlooking the Sea was the standout though. It is really hard to fault this hotel but if I was nitpicking it was disappointing that their Prosciutto and Wine wasn't open and there was no beach access when we went but this was due to the time of year we visited. All up the hotel is spectacular and if you're visiting Dubrovnik you should look no further - you won't be disappointed.

Three nights in a lovely double room (all have balconies facing the water and Lokrum island) - simply stunning views. We were here for my brother's 50th birthday The hotel is just perfect and an oasis of calm out of season. The staff were faultless and cannot do too much for you - thank you Milan at the Bar for your service ( there is every top brand drink that you need) and your welcome and to Mato on the front desk and all his charming staff Breakfast is just to die for (your Eggs Benedict & Julia are just perfect!) The staff are numerous and charming Sadly we did not dine in house (next time!) but we had very good food in 3 top restaurants in the beautiful walled city - recommended by the hotel too Stunning terraces and views of the city. Too early for the top bar to be open and the complimentary boat service to town to be running. The pool looks very inviting - the ladies in my group told me that the Spa is superb. You deserve your accolade as the No 1 hotel in Croatia - thank you for my stay which will remain in the memory for the rest of my days
