We stayed 6/11/17 through 6/17/17. This was our 4th year. 2 boys aged 17. Our daughter did not make it this year due to college summer school. Always very relaxing. The slow pace is exactly what we were looking for. We went fishing almost daily on the property and have done charters as well. Salty dog Charters on Marathon, has half day reef fishing relatively inexpensive(caught lots of snapper) or go offshore or inshore from Hawks cay Marina(we have not chartered with them). Our kids love the sports activities at Coral cay club for kids. They were able to have fun without needing to involve us so that we could do as we pleased. Very relaxing and beautiful place. The staff was very friendly and Basil who works pool side was always very helpful. Some of the other pool staff not up to his level but this is the islands and some locals operate on island time. That said, not the island time mentality not as bad as Bimini or Jamaica. We always go snorkeling as well. Each year our kids said this was a terrific trip.

We booked Hawks Cay for our 25th Anniversary. Only wish we could have brought our kiddo here when they were younger. Very family friendly resort with daily activities. 5 pools plus a lagoon with kayak & paddleboard rentals. Breakfast @ Ocean was a bit pricey but tasty & convenient. Lunch @ Angler & Ale overlooking the fishing docks was delish.

Big pool for families & one for adults only with hot tub & waitresses who bring snacks & drinks. Oceans breakfast only has buffet or order from menu. They have dolphins (with handlers) you can see up close. Business area very good.

We recently spent 6 nights at the resort and stayed in the Hotel section. We had a beautiful room with a balcony facing the adults only tranquility pool. The room is quite spacious and lovely. Housekeeping is terrific! The hotel is lovely and beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Most of the staff are friendly and willing to please. The resort mainly caters to families with children. There are many kids in the main resort pool screaming about and jumping in and playing marco polo, with loud music playing in the area. They have daily activities which are also mainly geared towards the children. Since we have no kids, we wanted to experience a quiet and peaceful vacation. We spent most of our time at the adults only tranquility pool. It was very peaceful and enjoyable Monday through Thursday at the pool, with only a handful of adults using the pool. It was heavenly! On Friday, lots of adults checked in and the pool became very loud on Friday and Saturday with lots of "younger" adults drinking and smoking in the pool. They were very loud and it was not as enjoyable. As an alternative, we enjoyed the man made lagoon. It is salt water streaming in from the ocean and quite enjoyable, no waves, very warm water and buoyant. We basically only used these two amenities at the resort. The main con of this resort was the shock we received at check in when Velisa, from Peru, put a hold of $200 per night on our credit card for incidentals. She explained it was the hotel policy and there was nothing she could do about it, and that the hold would be released at the end of the stay, with appropriate credit to our card. We later found out by talking to several guests who were repeat visitors, that a manager can waive this fee and lower it to a smaller amount, or you can put cash down as a deposit. Since we had no intentions of eating or drinking at the resort (we are non drinkers and like to explore the area) we were really upset by this large hold on our card. To date, our card has still not been cleared of these charges. The bank said it could take up to 8 days. We were so upset about it that we spoke to the hotel manager Jason Davies and expressed our concerns. He was very professional and apologetic and was able to rectify the problem for us. The resort is not far from local supermarkets such as Winn Dixie and Publix, where you can stock up on food and drinks, as well as, Walgreens and KMart. In addition, there are plenty of great restaurants in the area that are terrific and very reasonably priced, such as, Grassy Key Outpost (3 miles from the resort), great pizza and burgers and food there. Thomas, our waiter on two separate occasions, was really friendly and a great server! They also have a mini-market there where you can buy sandwiches, drinks, ice-cream, etc. We also ate at Lazy Days and Cracked Conch (near the movie theater in Marathon) and enjoyed home made ice cream at Sweet Savannahs. The resort really caters to families with children. If you are a couple on your honeymoon or celebrating an anniversary and want peace and quiet, we would suggest you go elsewhere. It is very expensive and the resort fee of $39 per day is quite high, it basically only includes valet parking. If you are a family with kids looking for a nice place, then by all means, this is the place for you. Roberto from Italy at the pool took time out to stop by and talk to us and wish us a good stay. He was very personable and professional. Thanks again to Jason Davies for making us feel special.
