Everything was done really well and the place is beautiful. The location and the grounds are the best part of it. We used it to go North to check out the Keys in that direction thoroughly and then south to key west.

Hawks Cay is nice resort but not near as nice as expected for the price. The marina is great and so is the location. The food and drink was good but is was very expensive. We had constant problems with our rental home. It took them 3 days to get internet, room key working and the TV didn't work in two of the rooms. We paid a premium price for the home also. The bright spot was both charters we took were excellent. My advice is to stay somewhere else and use their resort for charter boats.

This resort looks luxurious and beautiful from their website and trip advisor but what you don't see is the overcrowded amenities and outdated rooms. Having never stayed at the resort, we had numerous questions upon check-in. The front desk clerk responded to most with "I don't know, I haven't been over to the villas/villa pool before." Really?!?! We arrived at our room, unpacked and ventured to the lagoon/main pool. We were lucky to find an open set of (dirty/sandy) lounge chairs (with the last families garbage still at the table). The place is so packed it's insane. In the few hours we played at the pool, not one server greeted us or offered to take a food/drink order. The next day we left the villa to go on a snorkel trip. After returning we noticed our new neighbors that checked in had a dog locked on their patio that was barking incessantly. Strange, we thought-we had called to see if we could bring our dog and was told no pets allowed. The dog continued to bark its head off. Tried to call the front desk but our landline did not work. Called from our cell phone and an hour later got a call from a manager. Oh, and upon returning to the villa at 5:30pm, the maid service hadn't come!!!! We ended up going to the front desk to discuss our concerns with a manager. Her response was that the neighbor was a private owner and "When would you like housekeeping to come?" Ummmmmmm how abut in the morning like most resorts when WE ARE NOT THERE??? No attempt at offering to fix the phone. Third day we went out on a chartered boat. Returned around 6pm, the housekeeping had just laid 4 towels on the dining room table, no trash taken out, no beds made, that's it! Called front desk AGAIN and they promised the manager would send someone right away. So, instead of getting ready for dinner, we went to the pool to wait while they cleaned our villa. Anyhow, this could go on, pizza was $22 for a pepperoni pizza that literally had 8 slices of pepperoni on it, rude staff, zero customer service, had to call 3 times on our last day to beg to speak to a manager. Unimpressed honestly, they clearly need a management overhaul. Don't get roped in to this tourist trap!!!

This resort property is completely underrated! My Wife and I were looking for a romantic getaway for the weekend, and after a long search, came across this property. Everything is first class at this resort: location, property layout, beaches, room, amenities, etc. We were sorry we did not book extra days as we did not want to leave this paradise. The only negative aspect of our stay is that this property caters to all: families, adults, and of course, annoying children. Other than that staff was very friendly and accomodating. Can wait to book another weekend when classes start to avoid the children.

Great environment, friendly staff. We felt welcome from when we walked into the lobby. We rented a three bedroom villa with a pool, dated but decent furniture, but sadly squeaky hinges loose door handles and broken patio furniture. Had dinner at "Ocean" only to find out that the menu online is not the one for the restaurant and it shares a menu with the pool bar. $285 later we have learned our lesson and won't make that mistake again. 5 shrimp on a pile of spaghetti does not a scampi make and especially not for $33. Enjoy the pools get some drinks but steer way clear of the captive food options.
