I had a great stay at the Sanderling Resort. The location is beautiful, right between the ocean and the sound, so the views were amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful, and everything felt peaceful and relaxing. I really enjoyed the beach access, the pools, and the cozy firepits in the evening.

Excellent resort location on fantastic ocean front property. Rooms have amazing views, and staff seems extremely dedicated. We also enjoyed our meals and service at the life saving station.

The property and room were clean, and the staff was wonderful. However, the bedposts block the TV view from bed, and the amenities fell short for our beach trip style. The beach house snack options were disappointing, with a broken espresso machine and only two pastries available. The Sandbar’s hours (11 am–5 pm, even on July 4th) are limited, and the Lifesaving Station breakfast lacked flavor, though the coffee was good. After 5 pm, there are no counter service food options on-site. Adult entertainment was minimal and poorly advertised, with live music oddly placed indoors. The in-room fridge was tiny, making it hard to prep snacks—frustrating for a 4-star resort. Overall, if you want a quiet stay and don’t mind leaving for meals, this could work, but for us, it felt overpriced and didn’t meet “resort” expectations.

Loved being there. Beach access was beautiful, chairs and umbrellas aplenty. Fun to have water activities to rent right there on site. Renovations are lovely.

We stayed in an Ocean View Suite at the Sanderling and unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The A/C barely worked during our entire stay. Despite reporting the issue to the front desk three separate times, it was never properly fixed. The room remained uncomfortably warm and humid throughout. Wallpaper was peeling off the ceiling, and the shower had almost no water pressure — just a weak trickle that made it hard to rinse off. The balcony, which should have been a relaxing spot to enjoy the ocean view, was unusable most of the time (especially at night) due to hundreds of spiders. We asked for it to be cleaned and sprayed, but no one ever followed through. I ended up cleaning it off the best I couple with a hand towel. On a positive note, the Tranquility Pool was very nice and offered a peaceful place to relax. The overall design of the resort was well done. The onsite restaurant, Theodosia, served excellent food, but the service was extremely slow — drinks didn’t arrive until well after appetizers. 40 minutes after! I hope they can fix this because the Tomato Pie was amazing! In the mornings, be prepared to wait in line for $4 drip coffee. At a place like this, I'd expect drip coffee to be complimentary and espresso drinks for a charge. They had a beautiful espresso machine behind the counter, but it wasn’t being used — another missed opportunity for a better guest experience. For the price, the overall quality and attention to detail just weren’t there. We expected much more.

At the Sanderling Inn, in North Carolina we stayed in a luxurious room, had breakfast delivered to our room daily, dinner for two at a spectacular restaurant on the property and two individual (and extraordinary) massages. We loved the resort...
