Reviews for Cameron House on Loch Lomond
Stayed for overnight on Sunday 26th March. First of all if it's a nice day, you need to leave around 3 hours before to get through traffic. On arrival at 3.30pm was told room wasn't ready. We were given complimentary drink at bar and told someone would reach us when room ready. 5pm I had to go back and ask for room keys! Reception was ridiculously busy but in fairness the cannonball Ireland team had arrived. Bags were taken to room by our valet parking attendant which was nice. Room 152 was really good with our own door onto the grounds. Very spacious room with great walk in shower as well as bath. Clearly not designed by a woman as no sockets to plug in hairdryer or tea making facilities other than under bedside tables. Booked into claret jug for dinner which is a 5 mins drive away and they do run a shuttle service, but not worth money tbh. Boathouse was fully booked and the grill (inside cameron house) was Ā£45 for 2 courses. Had breakfast in grill and I cannot fault it. Staff were very attentive. Had eggs benedict which were excellent. Service charges apply for almost everything you eat and drink so be aware. Was nice place to stay, views are outstanding, but I definitely think they need to lower it to 3 or 4stars.

I loved loved loved our stay at Cameron house. Everything was perfect and The staff were just amazing. The hotel is in a fabulous location, so much to do and the meals we had were brilliant. Can't wait to arrange another trip.

We have been for 12 years and it is a very lovely place with helpful staff and a loch view on most lodges. The people are so friendly and help you. They have games in the main hotel for anyone, you just have to leave a deposit and bring them back from the games room. The bar is very lovely but at the moment they are having a balcony fitted in so you are unable to sit outside. On the other hand it is a bit pricey.

My sister and I stayed on an itison deal, which included prosecco on arrival which we didn't receive. The rate included thermal experience at the carrick which we loved. Service at Boathouse wasn't all that great, our table was round to the side which we didn't like and as we left nobody spoke to us or said goodbye. Service at breakfast wasn't great, we did go at a busy time however we had to ask 4 times for toast and then again twice for butter and by the time the butter came the toast was cold. No fresh milk on the table or jam or sugar, the person before had used it and it wasn't refilled! I understand it is a busy time between 10am and 11am but there were no apologies or people asking if we needed anything.

Great location for exploring nearby tourist attractions, good for walks and water sports or just to relax and do nothing, Cameron Grill was fantastic for dining. Couple of down points we were charged for an extra nights stay on checkout and the food and service in the Boathouse was terrible, We would stay there again but would definitely give the Boathouse a wide berth.
