Family Celebrations - Perfect

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

We had a family celebration at Cameron House early new year and the Hotel staff couldn't do enough for us. Front desk staff, concierge, bar staff and restaurant staff were all excellent and helpful. every member of staff we met would stop and say hello and ask if they could assist us. The leisure centre was perfect for our children, and grown-ups also. A wee bit busy on the Saturday afternoon. Dinner first night was in the Tavern - a pub like atmosphere and great for pub like grub. Second night was in the Cameron Grill. We were superbly looked after by all staff. Food and drink was fabulous. A more grown-up menu. La Vista for lunch was a perfect spot for a mid-day refuel. Hotel and grounds were great. Plenty to do and facilities were popular with our group. The children enjoyed the cinema. We had two family rooms which had separate area with bunks for the children. Plenty of space and privacy for the families. Both families remarked how quiet the rooms were. The suite was wonderful with a fabulous loch view. Peaceful rest was had by all.

Amazing! From the moment we stepped out of the car we felt so spoiled. The staff Christopher & the female blonde haired lady sorry I never picked up your name ALL the staff were so welcoming & helpful. The room was out of this world with a spectacular view over Loch Lomond. We ate at the Club House at the Carrick a shuttle bus service takes you over and back which is great, the breakfast was delicious & the staff went over and above with their service. The hotel is spotless & full of character. Thank you all again for the wonderful hospitality. Definitely woudl return

Extremely disappointed - no longer a five star establishment

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Extremely disappointed - no longer a five star establishment. Positive · The staff were helpful and friendly however the hotel was chaotic sometimes in their approach and clearly disorganised. This is not the fault of individual staff more a systemic process issue. The view from our room was lovely. Negative - The room we were allocated was run down. I opted for a room with a balcony however it was in the ‘new’ extension which unfortunately is soulless and very reminiscent of a work venue sadly. The room, albeit in a new wing, was shabby. Paint in our room was peeling off the walls in places and lamps and toilet roll holders were grubby and hadn’t been polished or cleaned for a while! We have stayed in this hotel twice before and those stays were wonderful however it has definitely gone downhill over the past couple of years and we won’t visit again, nor would I recommend to friends or family (whereas previously we would have done). Such a disappointment as we booked as a treat for New Years celebrations! On the last morning there were lengthy queues to access breakfast, even though there were many empty tables still uncleared and were advised to go the The Tavern instead for breakfast. We were met by another hotel guest who advised not to stay as there were no staff, not much food left and no crockery or cutlery! We didn’t have breakfast and left to go the nearest Starbucks for a better service. Such a shame that the magic of this hotel has been lost, very disappointed, especially when it cost £600/night!

Celtic Warrior champagne cruise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Just ticked another experience on my bucket list. Celtic Warrior champagne boat cruise. Beautiful boat, skipper & her mate are very hospital & safety conscious. My cancer prognosis as left me unsteady on my feet & unable to use my arm. I was able to with care easily to enbark & enlight the boat without much difficulty just a bit of help. We were able to enjoy a drink & wrap up warm in blankets, sit on the roof & enjoy the view. Cleared away the cobwebs & stress just for an hour, and drink in the amazing natural scenery of the Low lands & High lands.

Perfect stay

Everything was perfect. Ivwas on an overnight spa break with my daughter for my 60th birthday. On arrival there was champagne in the room as my daughter had mentioned my birthday when she booked and we were given two cocktail vouchers at check in The room was beautiful and had everything we wanted or needed. The view across the loch was fabulous. The staff were polite and friendly. They couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming. Our waiter in the Whisky Bar was Phil who was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and made us feel like royalty . I would definitely like to return.
