Reviews for Cameron House on Loch Lomond

Parking attendant put us off staying.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We didn’t even get as far as to step foot in the door, unfortunately. We travelled up from England to spend time with family and thought we would pop to Cameron house for a drink and maybe something to eat. We parked in a car park where the barrier was raised, didn’t think anything of it as we didn’t see signs. A car park attendant from the hotel came beside our car and asked us if he could help us. I told him we were popping in for a drink perhaps and he said in a very direct manner that we couldn’t park there, no welcome to the hotel, not friendly in any way, I couldn’t even get my words out to tell him the barrier was up before he just repeated himself. It was like a very unpleasant unfriendly robot telling us to move. Unfortunately, it was enough to put us staying for anything at all sadly. Not only have I visited many 5 star hotels in my life, I also run my own business and if one of my staff members acted this way, they would be disciplined if not fired for putting someone off. If this is the first thing guests or visitors are experiencing then I think some of your staff need retraining. Noone on this planet should make anyone feel disrespected in this way. Either he wanted to put us off staying (snobby attitude) or just couldn’t be bothered in his job, either way, I shall be passing this on to whoever asks me about Cameron House so well done.

Bad service in the Clubhouse Restaurant

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

My wife played golf on Saturday and I was her caddy as normal. After golf we got changed as it had been pouring with rain. We went into.the Clubhouse to get a sandwich and a coffee, it was around 1.30 and it wasn't busy. We were left waiting to be seated for some time whilst 2 members of staff served 2 people on one table!!! Eventually we got seated and were asked if we wanted something to drink, we asked for some water whilst we decided what we wanted and that was the last we saw of her, eventually we got up and walked out. Sadly this is not the first bad experience we have had, we stayed at Cameron House Hotel two years ago, played golf and the same thing happened we did eventually get served that time but the staff were rude. We are a gay married couple and I really hope that was not the reason. Definitely not going to return to the Clubhouse again, the Golf Course however is stunning and we will return there when we are in the area again.

Stunning resort

This is a beautiful resort located in a classic old Scottish house with a few nice modern extensions on the shores of the beautiful Loch Lomond. There are a few restaurants inside the hotel, bars, a large modern fitness centre and swimming pool and more. Our room was a very good size, attractively decorated and well apportioned with separate walk-in shower and bath, large TV, tea and coffee facilities and plenty of storage. Breakfast was included and served in Cameron Grill - the hot buffet offered a superb selection of classic Scottish breakfast food including haggis, tatty scones and lorne (square) sausages. Valet parking was available and free shuttles to and from Cameron Club golf course. All the staff were brilliant during our stay - friendly and helpful.

Cameron House is a Gem on the Shores of Loch Lomond!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, Cameron House did not disappoint! We were greeted by Stephen, our doorman, who immediately made us feel at home. The front desk staff was delightful and warm as well. We dined in two of their restaurants, La Vista and the Cameron Grill. Both were exceptional, for the food and the attention to detail. Matthew warmly greeted us at breakfast and remembered our names! Caitlin was the most impressive young lady we have been graced with meeting at the Grill for dinner! She was so impressive and really knows her wine selections! Her recommendations on the food choices were spot on as well. Chloe was also a delight. She welcomed us to our table and made us feel right at home. She is also a wonderfully impressive person who knows how to make a guest feel special! Last but not least was Christopher, the bellman. He really enjoyed talking about my fishing on Loch Lomond and was so kind I felt like I made a friend for life! This place is special and the focus on the customer unparalleled!

A beautiful (big) hotel & resort. The employees here, especially the door men/porters, are fantastic! Extremely clean premises, amazing breakfast selection, decent spa facilities (highly recommend the couples package!!) we will be back soon! Only slight negative we had was the ‘La Vista’ restaurant- very slow service, wrong items on our bill, regardless, this wasn’t enough to ruin our stay!
