Reviews for Cameron House on Loch Lomond

Disappointing totally lacking in customer service from reception and restaurant staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We stayed for three nights 5th October - Checking in wasn't the friendly chatty greeting with a smile that we expected the reception staff member took our details and then generally waved her arms around to point us in the direction of our room and bars, we had to ask about timing for breakfast, using the pool etc. If it hadnt been for the excellent valet parking staff/conceirge staff who came to our rescue we would have been wandering along corridors finding our own way to our room. (This appeared to be the general treatment of guests checking in) The toilet flush broke on our first morning, we reported it at 9 am to reception on our way to breakfast and then again at 10:30 and at 3:30 we had to be firm in saying we wanted someone to come and attend to it immediately, £500 per night and a toilet that doesn't flush didn't seem to be a priority!! We rang down to reception to ask for our car to be brought round to the front telling the receptionist that we had moved the car to an ev charging point so could she make sure the valet team knew, no, the poor guy fetching the car wasn't told and we had to get a another valet team member to radio through when we got to the doors expecting the car to be ready. The hotel lobby bar was closed and you had to use the main hotel bar which considering how much you are paying all facilities should be available. At breakfast we ordered one tea and one coffee, the coffee came and when we asked after 10 minutes or so, could we have the tea as we had the coffee already we were told the tea comes from a different place, Cameron Grill - food only warm probably because it was sat waiting to be served - 1 hour between starter and main course! with a bill of £260 for two we expected more. (the waiting time for drinks at breakfast and for evening meals wasn't just bad luck for us there were other guests having to wait) We ate the rest of our evening meals at the Italian restaurant La Vista (on site) which was much better, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Apart from the Valet team the staff seemed to be there just doing a job not providing a service and no-one seemed particularly happy, such a shame because its a lovely hotel, clean and well kept in a lovely setting. We certainly didnt feel we had received a 5* service, the staff attitude, abruptness and their general demeanour means we wont return.

FABULOUS STAY

We had a fabulous 1 night stay in Cameron House, as you drive up to the hotel the grounds and appearance are stunning, we were met by friendly staff member (Christopher), he promptly guided us to reception, took our bags and parked our car and all with a smile on his face. We stayed in the Auld House on a bed and breakfast booking which also included a £100 resort voucher. The room was stunning and perfectly presented, fully stocked fridge (free), superb toiletries, there was no faults to be found and the bed was fantastic. Went for a couple of drinks in the various bars and all were very good, dinner at the Cameron Grill was faultless and we were superbly waited on by the friendly Frea who is a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was another highlight, busy but yet again the staff rise to the occasion, the food choice is excellent as is the free champagne. All in all we had a superb time, the staff, the presentation of the hotel & grounds, high level of maintenance and upkeep are evident and a credit to all who run this very efficient establishment - we will definitely return

Luxury by the loch

Cameron house is located by the shores of Loch Lomond. A warm welcome from the valet sets the tone for a luxury holiday. Reception area is welcoming and staff are friendly and approachable with requests. We booked a contemporary king and the room did not disappoint. With comfy pillows and mattress. Ensuite was clean with a shower over the bath, large sink and toilet. The onsite swimming pool is large with a more leisure club vibe. We booked the thermal two hour treatment at an extra cost for a more relaxed experience. The hotel provided transport to the spa area located a short drive off site.

Fantastic stay at Cameron House

Just back from our family stay at Cameron House. An absolutely fantastic location which was complemented by the very attentive and caring staff. The concierge staff, Robin, John, Kevin and Jackie were first class throughout our time there. Arranging help for our family, whom some of which have mobility problems, without any fuss. This allowed us all to enjoy our stay more knowing that these guys were always on hand to help, sometimes at a moments notice. Customer service at its best well done It would be remiss of me also not to mention the sterling work from Joanne and her team whilst enjoying the sumptuous breakfast. Nothing a hassle and all of us enjoyed not only the food but the staffs attention to detail. Joanne was the perfect host and is a credit to the hotel. Thank you all for such a wonderful time

5 star all round

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed for two nights at Cameron House, and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was outstanding. This resort truly has it all! Gary, the General Manager, should be incredibly proud — his team is amazing, and nothing was ever too much trouble. A special thank you to CJ, who was absolutely fantastic with us. She made us feel so relaxed and welcome throughout our stay. Our bedroom was stunning, and the Jo Loves products in the bathroom were a lovely touch of luxury. The spa was absolutely amazing — spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and such a relaxing experience. It’s clear how well it’s looked after, and it really added to our stay. We honestly can’t wait to return — thank you for an unforgettable stay!
