We have been for 12 years and it is a very lovely place with helpful staff and a loch view on most lodges. The people are so friendly and help you. They have games in the main hotel for anyone, you just have to leave a deposit and bring them back from the games room. The bar is very lovely but at the moment they are having a balcony fitted in so you are unable to sit outside. On the other hand it is a bit pricey.

My sister and I stayed on an itison deal, which included prosecco on arrival which we didn't receive. The rate included thermal experience at the carrick which we loved. Service at Boathouse wasn't all that great, our table was round to the side which we didn't like and as we left nobody spoke to us or said goodbye. Service at breakfast wasn't great, we did go at a busy time however we had to ask 4 times for toast and then again twice for butter and by the time the butter came the toast was cold. No fresh milk on the table or jam or sugar, the person before had used it and it wasn't refilled! I understand it is a busy time between 10am and 11am but there were no apologies or people asking if we needed anything.

Great location for exploring nearby tourist attractions, good for walks and water sports or just to relax and do nothing, Cameron Grill was fantastic for dining. Couple of down points we were charged for an extra nights stay on checkout and the food and service in the Boathouse was terrible, We would stay there again but would definitely give the Boathouse a wide berth.

We picked a cracker with this short break, fantastic location and views spectacular. We visited on Mother's Day weekend so hotel and grounds were very busy. Room lovely comfiest bed we've slept in exceptionally clean high standard decor as expected don't know why other reviewers have complained about the rooms. Bar bills above average but what else do you expect for a 5 star in Scotland staff all lovely friendly and very informative especially about golf course. Ate at the Boathouse staff great steaks delicious but remember to order veg as they do not provide them on the side as you'd expect for Ā£28! Red wine was cold but replaced when we asked. Chocolate pudding could've been made by 5 year old so suggest they get a decent pastry chef. Breakfast served in hotel was fab loads of choice service with a smile. Trips to golf and spa were wonderful. On our second night we went to Masala Twist in Helensburgh strongly recommend if you fancy a curry best one we've had in ages huge tasty portions. Would definitely go back, and throughly recommend.

this place is a shambles with the worst staff ever ,been here many times as you can see from previous reviews ,we arrived at 1pm and were looking foe an afternoon tea ,we went up to the bar where we have had an afternoon tea previously to find it under construction and only serving light lunches so we tried the main restaurant, to be told they only serve private functions ,ok back down stairs to the lounge , now it looked lovely there were 2 guests be served ,the waitress approached and we told her we would like afternoon tea for 2 no you have to book in advance ,the place was empty the women was very rude and patronizing , so that was us ,called for car to be brought back from valet service, who to be fair were the nicest people we came across in the hotel and off we went to the duck bay which was great this hotel should never be a 5 star rating you would be better treated in a hostel
