Cameron House is absolutely stunning on entry, and the lobby is decorated wonderfully. The Christmas decor is gorgeous! Check in was good, we were allowed in early and we appreciated this as we were rushing to get to the champagne cruise. I did ask specifically for a quiet room through reservations when I made my booking, sadly I did not get this. I was put on the bottom floor and heard absolutely every foot step - it was relentless. This meant I didn’t get a good sleep at all as everytime someone moved (which they did even in the early hours), our ceiling was so creaky. There was sadly also constant door slamming where we were placed (near a stairwell). The champagne cruise was an absolute highlight - it is totally worth the money to do this. The skipper is a delight and the views are unparalleled. Sadly the other point has been deducted for the dining experiences. We had dinner at Cameron Grill - Never in my life have I been to a 5 star hotel and been kept standing waiting for my table for over ten minutes past booking time, didn’t receive my drinks until after the mains had arrived (starters were forgotten too), and just felt generally chaotic. Our server Stephen was fantastic and did his best to rectify the issues - on check out I was given 25% discount but honestly I don’t think this is on par with the fact it was both Jack’s birthday and our mini-moon stay. We saw others complaining too, some received bottles of champagne some got to speak to the manager, some like us didn’t get that chance. The same could be said for breakfast - it felt so chaotic that it was unenjoyable . The queue was around the block of the hotel - and service was a miss. Didn’t get a menu, things were going out of stock on the buffet and people rushing everywhere. We also experienced afternoon tea, which again we didn’t get a waitress over to us until 25 minutes after we sat down. I understand the hotel was clearly busy but there should be staffing and service levels to match the capacity. It’s a real shame we didn’t experience the 5 stars we were expecting and we’d paid for.

Over the past six days, I sent a total of nine emails to clarify a simple request for two rooms. I had to wait around 24 hours for every single reply, even though I always responded immediately with all the required information. Despite this, I was repeatedly asked for details I had already provided. The entire communication felt disorganized, unprofessional, and clearly unfriendly. I also increasingly felt that the hotel did not appreciate the fact that we intended to pay using the officially advertised Black Friday vouchers (20% discount). If a hotel promotes such offers, it should honor them – not make guests feel unwelcome for trying to use them. Otherwise, why advertise them? We therefore withdrew our request and booked another hotel where we were treated with professionalism and appreciation from the first moment. Very disappointing – this is not what good customer service should look like.

Excellent hotel, location and service in all areas of the hotel. We had a lovely time, food was fab , big shout out to Christopher on the door who greeted us with such a cheery smile and made us so welcome with his “jokes”. All round, great experience.

We had an amazing stay at Cameron House for my birthday. From the moment we arrived until we left we were made to feel welcome and the whole weekend was very special. A big shout out to Christopher who greeted us and parked our car and gifted us with a glass of champagne during our cream tea in the lobby bar and never forgot our name every time he saw us and to Victoria for making our evening meal very special and looking after us in the Cameron Grill. I’m sure we had an upgrade to a suite with a complimentary mini bar and the whole experience was truly amazing. The room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. We will definitely return and highly recommend Cameron House.

Had an overnight at the Hotel as a gift from family. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Christopher, a concierge who was an absolute credit to the hotel. Our room was outstanding with 2 balcony's offering great views and outstanding levels of comfort. Leisure facilities were first rate. We dined in the Tavern restuarant in the hotel for lunch and dinner which was very relaxed and breakfast in the main restuarant. All were a high standard. Staff were all so helpful. We have found over the years that high end hotels like this can be very formal. Not so Cameron House, it had a very relaxed atmosphere. In terms of value for money we felt it was reasonable given the type of hotel.
