Had the most lovely experience today with the team I spoke to in regards to room availability and the girl described each room to me and what would suit our needs in great detail! No question was to silly and the girl (sorry I forgot her name) is a great asset to the reservations team , very knowledgeable and made the whole process very easy and enjoyable ! We cannot wait for upcoming stay

Afternoon tea had been booked online but when we arrived in the lounge there was no reservation, and this is essential. All my information was on their system but the details had not been transferred to an actual booking. We were disappointed given the outing was a birthday celebration. The manager apologised and said she would check with the chef to see if he could accommodate us. She came back giving us a thumbs up and we were then taken to probably the best table in the lounge, looking out to the Loch. I was also given a complimentary glass of fizz. The afternoon tea was excellent, savouries, sandwiches, cream scones and a variety of cakes. (Doggy bag required for the remaining cakes which were enjoyed at home in the evening.) I cannot thank the manager, her assistant and, of course, the chef for all the attention to detail and saving my birthday outing. Both the manager and her assistant, unfortunately I don't have their names, went above and beyond in all they did for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thanks so much.

My son (age 5) and I stayed at Cameron House for three nights. On arrival, the valet parking team were really helpful. They were lovely with my son throughout the stay and helped us get bikes in and out etc! The room itself was great and well-appointed with a lovely view. We did encounter a small house keeping issue on arrival but this was dealt with swiftly by the reception and I received, almost immediately, a follow up call from the hospitality ambassador, Caroline who went out of her way to rectify the situation, offering us free bike hire by way of apology. She also came to speak to us personally at breakfast the next morning. The hotel dealt with an issue in a way that is very rare these days! I was very impressed. The grounds are great for exploring and my son enjoyed the playground too. The swimming pool and water slide are great for kids (and adults!). We took our dog with us and the hotel was very dog friendly. Because we had the dog we didn’t eat dinner in the main restaurant but had our meals in the sports bar and La Vista. The service was very friendly in both places but I got the feeling that La Vista was a little under-staffed as they seemed quite stressed. The food was good but not incredible. I think both restaurants could benefit from some lighter options: it was very hot and the food is all quite heavy! The breakfast offering was very impressive, however and enjoyed by both of us. During our stay, we met a lovely lady from the staff training team who came and spoke to us in the bar. She was incredibly friendly and her passion for the hotel and her enjoyment in getting to know its guests was obvious. On departure we had a bit of a disaster as we left my son’s favourite Teddy behind!! Not only did Caroline find him and send him back to us, she also took photos of him enjoying all the hotel facilities which my son thought was completely magical! You honestly don’t get this level of service very often so I wanted to write this review to say how impressed I was. Cameron House is a large hotel and lacks the intimate feel of smaller, luxury hotels but what it lacks in this area is made up for by the facilities and the wonderful staff. Thank you.

As a couple in our mid 50s, we had been looking for a small and quiet hotel. All the marketing, the website, the emails that we received in advance, and even the follow-up email that I received, which I have screenshotted below, led us to believe that that we were coming to a small, quiet place. Most of the photos on their website only show a small section of the hotel and wording such as ‘peaceful, tranquil and gentle’ are simply misleading. The reality is that Cameron House is not what we had hoped for. It’s huge and very commercial. Had we have known what kind of hotel we were going to book, we wouldn’t have been so surprised and disappointed. Additionally, at dinner, the chef in the open kitchen could openly be seen touching his cell phone and licking the spoons before touching the food with his fingers. Our kind waitress that night also unfortunately had a grubby apron. So the evening was a bit unsavoury. Breakfast is extremely busy and loud, not as described in the email I received and attached . The issue at Cameron House is more of a marketing issue than a hospitality issue because the rooms were very nice and clean The main problem for us - expectation v reality. I hope that you take this in the spirit in which it is intended, which is to be helpful

This hotel has a lot of amenities and in a beautiful setting. Front desk and valet staff were excellent. The boathouse restaurant is good and breakfasts were excellent. The only things disappointing was the food in the tavern and the room. Blind in the room did not work, left it half way up so housekeeping would notice and found in the same position upon arrival. Tissue box was empty and did not get refllled, sink is cracked, room itself is small. Expected better for the price charged, but could not beat the location. Some parts 5 star, some 2.
