On arrival at Cameron house the sea plane was taking off and the view from the balcony at the main bar was amazing. From arrival our car was taken to the valet car park and our bags were carried to our room by the concierge who also gave us information about our room. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. We visited the Spa on Saturday 09th December and some of the spa features were out of order including the roof top infinity pool. We were a bit disappointed and happened to mention to a member of staff in the bar who discretely asked the spa manager to speak with us. The spa manager was very apologetic and advised that they had unplanned maintainabce during the day due to a problem that occurred with the pools heating system and she offered us a complimentary return visit at another time. We received a very polite and personal email from the manager with a voucher that we can use anytime within the next 6 months. So we will be back. The room we had was very nice, clean and relaxing. The only negative experience would be our dinner and breakfast at Cameron House grill. Our seats at dinner were not in the best spot, we were sat at the entrance against a pillar although some of the seats towards the middle of the restaurant were available for the duration of our meal. Also we both ordered the rib eye steak and when it arrived it looked great but the steak was not as warm as the rest of the food on the plate. At breakfast we queued for about 10 minutes to be told that we would need to wait a further 20 minutes the be seated. The staff then advised that we could help ourselves to the buffet and take a seat in the bar which we did. Breakfast food was good and service in the bar was efficient considering the unexpected flow of customers carrying through breakfast plates to eat at bar stools and coffee tables! The grounds at Cameron house are gorgeous and the Christmas trees and decorations are very festive. I would visit again but probably not for dinner.

Got surprised with a birthday treat for the night. Had the most amazing stay, lovely staff, really nice meal in the boathouse and a few drinks in the Scott’s bar. Also a day at the spa (2 miles away). Room is a slight letdown for the price we had a double Loch view but it was 2 single beds put together! It was also freezing despite leaving the heating on (it was -6 to be fair). Over all did have an amazing birthday!

My wife and I spent a night ( two days) at the hotel. It was in the main a very enjoyable experience however definitely not a 5 star service. We dined at the Grill and although the food was very good the service was atrocious. Firstly we ordered drinks which took 15 minutes to come; I had to remind the staff. Then my bread roll was served and when my wife reminded them she was Gluten Free they totally forgot her bread which came 20 minutes later. We had our amuse bouche; twice, then when our main course came it actually wasn’t ours! Eventually we received our main course; I had lamb and asked for some mint sauce, even after reminding them ( again) it came just as was finishing my dinner. Finally we received the bill and we were overcharged. This was rectified but none the less frustrating. In the Great Scot bar area we ordered 2 G&T’s and were told they did not have one, then two of the gins we asked for and when we asked for some crisps or nuts they said they didn’t have any! 5 Star... I don’t think so! Good points, were the room was nice, the food was good ( but not 5 star) and the boat trip on the Loch we did was superb with very knowledgable and friendly skipper and crew.

A nice building in a great setting, but ruined by overworked and rushed staff members. Everything happens slowly and required repeated reminders and pestering. Our room was never cleaned during our stay, despite several requests. We had a wait until two hours after check in before our room was ready with no suggestion of how long it would take or where we should wait. Countless other little things (including bits and pieces in the room being broken or dirty) made it a stay which wasn't relaxing.

Beautiful location and a lovely hotel but was disappointed with the service as we where constantly waiting which effected our stay and made it feel more rushed than relaxed. We did enjoy our food & service at the Claret Jug it was excellent but the Hotel and Bar could be improved.
