This hotel has so much going for it, but the overall experience was disappointing and represented poor value for money. The setting and scenery are wonderful, there is an impressive range of amenities and activities (including a well-maintained leisure club with separate kids' pool and flume, and an on-site cinema), and the decor of rooms in the new wing is fresh and modern. However: The new wing appears to be shoddily built and poorly maintained. Voices and walking were clearly audible in the next room, and the air conditioning vent leaked overnight and flooded the hallway floor. The design of the room lacked attention to detail. The sink area in the bathroom was very cramped (despite the fact that this was a family room which could sleep 4), the shower lacked a screen (resulting in a flooded bathroom floor after use), the curtains were not blackout standard, and the lighting was unreliable (in the morning it dimmed to 50% brightness and would not return to its original setting). Getting a walk-in table for dinner was difficult and stressful (we tried two venues and only finally succeeded at a third), with staff largely uninterested and unsympathetic. Service interactions were frequently offhand and lacking in polish, professionalism and sincerity, and I had to chase multiple times for the final bill to be provided by email. There is so much potential here for a truly stunning, world-class resort. Unfortunately, while pricing is at the level of top London hotels, service and attention to detail fall well short.

Amazing trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We had the 2:00 pm cruise on the Celtic Warrior with Sara and Connor, and it was absolutely brilliant! From start to finish, it was so much fun, with plenty of laughs and a fantastic atmosphere. They were both friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience one to remember. A special mention also to Lacey in the Boathouse, who was absolutely amazing—so welcoming, friendly and a real credit to the team. And thanks to Broady as well for helping make our visit even more enjoyable. We'd highly recommend the Celtic Warrior experience to anyone. We can't wait to come back!

The initial welcome from the doormen creates a wonderful first impression which continues throughout the hotel!

Stayed many times on business but this year it was our first stop on a scottish tour. Large new hotel block has been added and a few changes inside however the doormen make the initial welcome and the first impression continues throughout the hotel Attentive service, friendly staff, nice selection of places to eat in, and very near the hotel (marina)

Magical break

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Amazing (15th) anniversary break at Cameron House - a magical experience including a Loch Lomond boat trip on the Celtic Warrior and big thanks to Heather (reception) and David (Events Mgr) for helping show a private screening of our original wedding video in the cinema! Excellent food & service throughout, especially the Cameron Grill - we’ll be back !

Had a wonderful afternoon tea at Cameron House . Food was delicious and we had a bay window seat, looking over the loch. The server was lovely, really friendly - Patricia.
