Recent stay for 2 nights to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary. Very enjoyable stay with everything i had requested on the booking being taken care of very well. Room and dining were very good aswell as our 1st experience of using the Carrik Spa thermal experience. Looking forward to our next stay already which will be next year at some point.

Amazing hotel and facilities, would definitely return (if we could afford to!). Hotel is expensive but restaurants on the estate fit all budgets so you can choose one to suit you. We ate at the boat house, amazing food. Lots of things to do on the estate and out and about. We took a boat trip on the Loch - highly recommended

First of all Cameron House is situated in idyllic surroundings, but most know that. Over time, the hotel has been known for quality however I feel they are living on past glories. I’m a frequent visitor to Cameron House and I must admit their level of service and attention to detail has gone astray. The big positive was the room - comfortable, clean, beautiful decor, perfect temperature. It really was excellent. However the hallways leading to the rooms were filthy - carpets weren’t hoovered, furniture covered in dust, empty glasses and bottles everywhere - and this wasn’t just at room changeover time. This was right throughout our stay. The same empty bottles were left lying about, no or little hoovering, no dusting and spillages were not cleaned up. The main disappointment was the Cameron Grill Restaurant. We were sat beside a window view of the loch, which was a very nice touch. However the window was literally covered in dirty hand prints made by a child. When we returned the next morning for breakfast it still hadn’t been cleaned. The main gripe was the food. On two occasions I had to send back my steak as it was completely overdone (my preference is medium rare). I’m sorry, but that’s criminal with any steak restaurant, never mind one that charges a premium. My final bill was readjusted however the evening was ruined. I didn’t want to order anything else as I had lost any confidence in what the chef was able to offer me. My wife was sat eating her meal alone, which also put her off as we wanted to eat together, obviously. I will say, in defence, that the waiting staff were attentive and showed complete empathy with the situation, so credit where credit is due. Still, they shouldn’t be put in that situation. I also will add that I wasn’t the only person to return a meal that evening as a table close to us did the same due to their meal being cold. Overall, Cameron House really needs to raise the bar. I get the feeling they are living off the past and use the location to fill rooms in the hotel without providing the service that they were once famous for. Really disappointing considering the rates that they charge their patrons.

Beautiful hotel and a stunning location. The bedroom was perfect and had a beautiful view over the loch. A real shame the service was so poor and not what was expected. The carrick spa was amazing and well worth a trip.

Fabulous location on the bonnie banks, roaring fires, cozy rooms but service sadly lacking. Long wait for toast and coffee at breakfast always. ÂŁ20 for a burger in the bar again slow. Sat in the bar for a coffee waited 15 minutes before anyone asked what we wanted and another 15 minutes for coffee to arrive. 5 star location. 1 star service. Also my colleagues had to chase away 2 buck fast drinking yobs from near their suite as there was no security.
