Stayed for 2 nights in a loch view room. Had a great stay in this hotel! We enjoyed a great meal in the boat house restaurant, a lovely afternoon tea in the drawing room and a fantastic morning in the Carrick Spa. It really is a fantastic spa and the rooftop pool is amazing!! The breakfasts both days were great and our room was amazing and spotlessly clean. Some very friendly staff and a beautiful setting! We particularly enjoyed the new terrace at the great scots bar where we sat both evenings round our own fire pit looking onto the loch with blankets provided by the hotel. A really luxurious and relaxing break and I look forward to coming back again soon!!

The Table we sat on for dinner was not comfortable in terms of location and the table it self was not stable ,nearly spilled my drink when put my elbow on the table . I would expect 5 star hotel would have taken care of furniture!
We were disappointed with our stay due to the poor service we received. From the delay in connecting us with our taxi driver (which resulted in us being late for an event) to staff either not responding to or fulfilling requests we didn't feel at all looked after. We had been very much looking forward to our night away based on the reputation of the hotel. We felt that the service, although friendly overall, was not strong and attention to detail was not evident at all. We were perhaps unlucky but for a 5 star hotel you expect a higher level and a consistency of service.

I stayed here with my wife for the night for our anniversary. We mainly came for the restaurant (which I have reviewed separately) but was glad we chose to stay. The surroundings are stunning, being on the shores of Loch Lomond. The reception staff were all very friendly and we were checked in quickly. The hotel is a massive rabbit warren of corridors, but the signage to assist wayfinding could be better ( we ended up going out of a door which turned out to be an emergency exit we couldnâ€™t get back into!) but when we got to our room, it was lovely. The views of the Loch were a treat, but the rest of the room was great too. We opted to take breakfast in our room as it was only a ÂŁ5 tray charge. Very nice and arrived on time. We visited the Great Scotsâ€™ Bar whilst there. Apart from a slight snafu with one of the orders, it was good. Amazing venue, lots of choices of drink. I will certainly be going back here, there is lots we didnâ€™t manage to see due to the size of the place and the short time we were there, but thatâ€™s an excuse to go back.

Having visited Cameron House many times over the years its sad to write a poor review having just spent a couple of days here. The rooms are still pretty much the same but a bit tired now, most of the staff and concierge team at least acknowledge or chat to you in the passing.The leisure package offers plenty to do and the terrace on a nice day/evening wrapped up is a pleasant way to have a bite to eat or drink to compliment the Scots bar. On the face of it not much has changed but that is the problem- most places have, more people now have better/greater experiences in either 4/5 star hotels abroad or on cruises and Cameron House has stood still and standards dropped. I don't know if cutting costs and increasing the through put of numbers has put pressure on staff and on the company to invest but that doesn't excuse some poor basic housekeeping. From the front doorstep carpet,the dust around the place-mirrors, ledges etc to the floor in the Boathouse that is in in need of a good steam clean- the place is in need of some attention.Any management walkround should pick up this up. It looks like the staff must now buy their own uniforms because of the variety of tops and trousers on show. Not the image that you would expect from a 5 star resort. During our stay I heard a couple of complaints from over fussy folk and I could possibly understand that when seeing what is charged and if they failed to deliver on service and quality. Don't get me wrong its still a nice pleasant place for a few days but there are far better offers and value elsewhere. Sadly not what it used to be.
