Reviews for Cameron House on Loch Lomond

Perfect place for a babymoon!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Where do we start! A huge thank you to CJ, Will and the whole team for blessing us with the most beautiful week for our babymoon. We were blown away by the service where nothing felt too much, our room overlooking the Loch, the food, how dog friendly everything was, the golf, the spa, the champagne cruise (with a fully stocked bar and the friendliest crew!), delicious breakfast each morning, beautiful walks, the bath!!! and the list goes on. It was worth every penny and we miss seeing everyone's smiling faces. It will always hold a special place in our hearts and there's no where like the stunning backdrop of Loch Lomand to bring some peace. It's the perfect location for exploring the Highlands and everything is in reach. We explored Luss and Oban which would recommend. There were so many wonderful touches- CJ who is there to help support with all bookings and endless reccos, canapés delivered to your room, treats for the dog, shuttle buses to the spa, gorgeous spa treatments, congratulations treats. Everyone was just so kind and we enjoyed little chats with everyone. We can't wait to return with our baby one day. Thank you thank you to everyone again. The only negative was having to leave.

Great family experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We recently joined the leisure facilities at Cameron House and couldn’t be happier with our decision. Shannon the Resort Membership Advisor was fantastic from the start. She is positive, helpful and incredibly informative. She took the time to answer all of our questions and guided us towards the membership that best suits our family’s needs. With our local facilities in Helensburgh currently closed, it’s great to have somewhere nearby that we can enjoy together. We love the gym, pool and sauna, and the kids are especially delighted with the slide! It’s great for spending time together as a family. The memberships brings added benefits discounted access to the Carrick Spa is my personal favourite. Perfect for child free relaxation. I could spend all day in the hydro pool. We’ve also enjoyed the food in The Tavern and having member discounts there too is a bonus. Great for the whole family. Highly recommend!

Call the sheriff cause I'm not leaving

I asked a random guy from Scotland, “where should I go in Scotland,” and without any hesitation he said Cameron house. He was so convinced that I did a little research and in just a few weeks we had planned our first trip to Scotland. When we arrived we were greeted by John and Davy who were a combination of funny, pleasant, and professional. They were available to us most hours of most days to provide not only help, but advice, reservations and directions. Even though all Cameron house employees were perfect, these two combined shined above all others. When we arrived I sat in front of the window with a view that was so beautiful that I wouldn’t have had to do anything else for four days but, of course we did. The first breakfast I had was at the Cameron grill and was the best breakfast of my entire life. Scrambled eggs that seemed to come from some special kind of happy chicken. Salmon that seemed to be just dipped from the ocean. I can’t remember the last time I had brie and mozzarella curds for breakfast. Oh, yeah. Never! Cappuccino that was as smooth as twelve year old single malt whisky topped off with a hot cup of dilmah premium ceylon tea. Next was a walk on duck bay, then a boat tour of the loch with swans and geese and a rainbow that reminds us how beautiful it is to be alive. I highly recommend the Tavern for fish and chips. The indoor pool was divided into two sections. One side was designed for children with slides and water spray. The other side had mostly adults. There was also a “bubble tub” that was restricted to adults only. In the evening the Cameron grill turned into a reservations only dinner experience that was so relaxing and delicious that I thought they would need the police to force me to leave. If I had to complain about anything about Cameron house it would be the banana souffle at the grill. Apparently the bananas on hand weren’t ripe enough to suit the chef and he had to get some from another restaurant meaning it took a lot longer to make. I couldn’t care less because I didn’t want to leave anyway but the maitre d' was mortified. He took the price of the dessert off of my bill. The fact that it was free made it even more delicious. When it arrived it was as light as a feather and nearly 3 times as tall as the bowl it was in. It was paired with a caramel sauce that combined to make it my favorite dish. Like that random guy from Scotland I would recommend the Cameron house to anyone who wants to be pampered and is looking for true luxury and relaxation.

Don’t go here

Just returned back from a two night stay given to us as a result of an incident with our last visit. The arrival was fabulous and the concierge and reception were great. We had 3 double rooms which all seemed great. After the 1 st night i had breakfast which was lovely and when I returned to my room the room service had made the bed, replenished the towels and cleaned the room but when I went to bed that night I turned down the covers and I could see that the room service had not bothered to move the bottom sheet at all as it was still all crumpled and had left my granddaughters two hair baubles ( which I did not know were missing. She is only 2) still sitting inside the bed. It gets worse when telling my son this story next morning at breakfast. He said he was looking for his spectacles when he pulled what he thought was one of his children’s tea shirts when it was actually an other man’s boxer shorts in his bed that must have been their from the previous occupant’s ( even thought this is day two and the bed had been slept in the the room service and made the bed from the previous nights sleep). He reported this to the management who apologised.( I did not report the bed making as at the time seems insignificant at the time) Although this trip was complimentary due to the short fall last time. This is totally unacceptable. There is a premier inn just a few miles away at the fraction of the price who would make you bed fully each day and check if the person before had left their laundry in the bed. At £500 pound a night I do expect my bed to be fully made and not just pulled up and I don’t expect anyone in my party to find items of clothing especially dirty boxer shorts in your bed. Writing this seems unbelievable so imagine how it feels to experience it

Fabulous night away

We have been several times. The last time we came we did not rate our experience and would never have come back but a member of staff (Rebecca) reached out to us and so we decided to give the hotel another try. This experience was better. The room/suite was lovely. Yes a little TLC were the floor and glass table (scratches) is concerned would speak more to the customer seeking perfection but this in itself did not detract from how stunning the room or the view afforded. The dinner experience at the grill was very Good. At breakfast Lily was very attentive and professional - well done. So overall very good and looking forward to next visit About to leave now and bid farewell to the concierge team Davie, Jackie and Jim who are the first to meet you and make you feel welcome.
