A retreat on a loch

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

Stunning property.- essentially everything for couples or family. The facilities and grounds are breathtaking and rooms lovely. We ate at the tavern, grill, had high tea and breakfast twice. All meals were delicious and service fantastic other than the tavern staff seemed a bit overwhelmed by the amount of guests/orders and service was slow.

10/10 Stay, cannot recommend enough!

We stayed two nights at the Cameron House for my partner's Birthday Weekend. We had a wonderful time, from start to finish. From check in, through the entire stay and right up to our exit, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. The quality of food and drink on offer is very hard to beat; the room itself was spacious, Immaculate and had a beautiful Loch view. The staff throughout the hotel, from the receptionists, to the concierges, the leisure staff and the waiting and bar staff in every bar and restaurant all shared a clear commitment to high quality customer service. Specific mention to Robin, our greeting concierge, who went above and beyond from start to finish, Caleb in the Great Scott Bar, whose Whisky knowledge was impressive and helpful, and Mark in the Tavern bar, whose patience, friendly demeanour and willingness to go out of his way to cater to our dietary needs was refreshing and extremely welcome. We would absolutely recommend staying here! Top marks!

Great weekend getaway

Stayed for one night, and were upgraded - first visit, so can’t comment on the difference in rooms, but it was very comfortable & immaculately presented. On arrival we were welcomed by both the concierge & reception staff, both were fantastic. We made use of the spa, leisure facilities & the Cameron Grill. All spot on, the only issue I had was the wine, Not sure our server knew much of the menu, and although his service was otherwise flawless, the recommendation after discussion, wasn’t great. Will definitely be back.

Always a wonderful stay at Cameron House

We’ve stayed at Cameron House several times now, and it never disappoints. The setting is absolutely beautiful — the grounds and views over Loch Lomond are stunning. The rooms are cosy and luxurious, creating such a relaxing atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The food is consistently excellent, and the service always feels warm and genuine. Every visit reminds us why we love coming back — it’s the perfect mix of comfort, style, and Scottish charm.

Disappointing totally lacking in customer service from reception and restaurant staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We stayed for three nights 5th October - Checking in wasn't the friendly chatty greeting with a smile that we expected the reception staff member took our details and then generally waved her arms around to point us in the direction of our room and bars, we had to ask about timing for breakfast, using the pool etc. If it hadnt been for the excellent valet parking staff/conceirge staff who came to our rescue we would have been wandering along corridors finding our own way to our room. (This appeared to be the general treatment of guests checking in) The toilet flush broke on our first morning, we reported it at 9 am to reception on our way to breakfast and then again at 10:30 and at 3:30 we had to be firm in saying we wanted someone to come and attend to it immediately, £500 per night and a toilet that doesn't flush didn't seem to be a priority!! We rang down to reception to ask for our car to be brought round to the front telling the receptionist that we had moved the car to an ev charging point so could she make sure the valet team knew, no, the poor guy fetching the car wasn't told and we had to get a another valet team member to radio through when we got to the doors expecting the car to be ready. The hotel lobby bar was closed and you had to use the main hotel bar which considering how much you are paying all facilities should be available. At breakfast we ordered one tea and one coffee, the coffee came and when we asked after 10 minutes or so, could we have the tea as we had the coffee already we were told the tea comes from a different place, Cameron Grill - food only warm probably because it was sat waiting to be served - 1 hour between starter and main course! with a bill of £260 for two we expected more. (the waiting time for drinks at breakfast and for evening meals wasn't just bad luck for us there were other guests having to wait) We ate the rest of our evening meals at the Italian restaurant La Vista (on site) which was much better, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Apart from the Valet team the staff seemed to be there just doing a job not providing a service and no-one seemed particularly happy, such a shame because its a lovely hotel, clean and well kept in a lovely setting. We certainly didnt feel we had received a 5* service, the staff attitude, abruptness and their general demeanour means we wont return.
