About the Hotel

When Breidenbacher Hof, a Capella hotel opened at the turn of the 19th Century, it was a bona fide royal hotel that counted Russian Czar Alexander II among its early guests. World War II demolished the original structure, but it was rebuilt – and rebuilt again in 2006 – with equal grandeur. Tastefully modern rooms outfitted in shades of gold match the hotel’s refined service. Briedenbacher Hof is earning a name for itself as a medical destination spa – guests can access a private clinic where cardiologist Dietrich Baumgart practices preventative medicine, and a network of German’s leading cosmetic and plastic surgeons offer services with utmost discretion.

First Class All the Way

Don't miss a chance to stay in one of Europe's top luxury hotels. Every moment of our stay was a joy. The front desk personnel, the concierge personal assistants, the restaurant service team, housekeeping—the men and women working at Breidenbacher Hof are skilled in the art of gracious service. The degree of elegance is this beautiful hotel is off the charts.

Service excellence in a beautiful hotel with great location. 5 stars.

Well deserved reputation of excellence. We arrived to be warmly greeted by the doorman, who helped my 2 children whilst I sorted a rental vehicle. The front desk followed this up with a warm greeting and took us to the room. He obviously took pride in the hotels awards and reputation and explained some aspects of the hospital to us. The foyer was nice, this led into the guest lobby and sitting area behind secure doors where guest can relax and have drinks. The gesture of not charging for these drinks (ie tea, coffee, soft drink) is a nice small gesture. The bedroom itself was large with enough room for an additional bed for a child. The bathroom was nicely decorated and the rooms were much larger than typical European rooms. Our room faced the hotel entry street and was a tad loud on the weekend, but understandable being right in the centre of town. The location is excellent for perusing Dusseldorf, being literally at the start of the major shopping strips. There is an underground station across the road within one minute. The hotel is obviously well regarded, and I saw a tourist walking tour stop out the front to describe it to the group! I did not eat breakfast and can not comment. The gym and pool were excellent facilities and clean. Ultimately, I have been lucky to stay at some very nice hotels before, and this was certainly that. The staff are what make this hotel excellent, and superior to others. Whether it was the welcoming door people, welcome gifts for children, or trivial thing like providing stationary, nothing was too much and it was akin to service you may get in top end Asian hotels. There was no sign of bother from staff, and every single member met was welcoming. Well done. If I am back to Dusseldorf, I will be back to the Breidenbacher Hof! Thank you.

Excellent location and nice hotel but not a nice overlooking view.

It was our first visit to this hotel as we usually stay in Steigenberger Parkhotel. The location is excellent on the famous Königsallee and few steps from the old city. We had to wait for a while for our room to be ready although we informed in advance about arrival time and it was past the announced check in time. It was a nice spacious room with big bed and large bathroom. We asked for a nice view and we got a bad view of the rooftop of nearby department store. The bathroom had shower and tub and separate WC with bidet. The amenities were in big bottles instead of the small lovely bottles you can take as souvenirs. The bed was extra large but rather high for short people. The room had coffee machine and tea kettle with complementary water bottles. The entrance of the hotel is lovely and there’s a living room dedicated for hotel guests where they can relax and have beverages. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. As a whole it was a nice stay in this hotel.

Great as always! Best hotel

Again, our stay here was amazing! One of the best hotels I have ever been to. Service is incredible. The only remark this time, valet parking price has increased significantly. And if you want to charge your car: €45,- extra! This service should be included in the valet/hotel price in my opinion.

Great place to stay

An amazing place to stay. This hotel is very well situated. All shopping and sightseeing is a very short walking distance. Rooms and all facilities are second to none. Would recommend this place highly. The staff is equally as good as the hotel.
