An Beautiful Place to Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

The Baker House 1650 in East Hampton is just an amazing bed and breakfast experience. It's an old house from 1600's with all the old world charm. If you want to have a massage or the private pool make an appointment and reserve your private time. The rooms are quite beautiful and offer a lot of charm and all the necessities. They offer delicious breakfast each morning, The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Crazy, Rigid Cancel Policy

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I never stayed there, and now am glad I won't be! This is about their rigidity in relation to cancellations even several months in advance. I was charged a 10% cancellation fee for a two night reservation i held for less than 4 days, 8, months in advance. Amounting to around $200.00. While I didn't actually stay there, I wanted to warn potential customers not to make a reservation if there is even a remote possibility that their plans will change. I cancelled my reservation for 8 months out just a few days after making it, because I found a much more reasonably priced accommodation. First, the hotel did not refund the one night deposit ($965) after my cancellation even though they sent an email confirmation that they had deducted the charge and assured me verbally by phone that "nothing had been charged yet". Thus I had to follow up with another call the next week to actually get the cancellation confirmed. When I spoke to the person that time, I asked again if that might, in the interest of good customer service, refund the $200 or so cancellation free for the way-in-advance reservation that I made for two nights. That person said they'd refer the matter to a manager but couldn't do anything themself. I followed up with a detailed email about the above and requested again, in the spirit of good customer service given the time frame involved, that they refund the cancel fee (I don't think I should have to pay $200 for spending a few minutes on the phone with one of their reservation folks this far in advance). I heard nothing back and so will work with my credit card company to see if they can help me out on this. In sum: don't make a reservation of any length, any amount of time in advance, if there's a possibility that your plans will change!!

a birthday to remember forever

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

where to start ! my daughter and I stayed for a few nights to celebrate her birthday - we wanted someplace special and memorable and it was everything and more - the staff were all so friendly , professional and so incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make us feel special. The grounds and the rooms are like a fairytale and the little touches such as the fully stocked honour bar , the fresh flowers , the beautiful scent throughout the rooms and lounge areas .. just everything ! is magical and I can honestly say it is a place that will stay in our memory for a very long time and we are so thankful to everyone for making our time so special ..of course goes without saying it is a wonderful location close to everything in the Hamptons you wish to visit .

Simply Amazing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 months ago

This B&B was the most spectacular place I've ever stayed. Everything about it is first class. The grounds are simply amazing and the location is central to everything, beach, dining, shoping, vineyards. The staff is super friendly and overall we had the absolute best experience in this little piece of paradise. We booked late and only had a room in the carriage house available BUT This is the absolute best building to stay in :) We had our own pool, bar and quite getaway, isolated from the road and hustle and bustle of other housemates. Highly recommend this place, it's magical.

Excellence in East Hampton!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 months ago

Love The Baker House! It is terrific! It is in a wonderful location in East Hampton and the best place to stay. I have stayed there 5 times and loved every visit. Everything on the property is beautiful - the grounds, pools, rooms and common areas. The two pools are lovely. Breakfast is delicious and the servers are friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping is terrific as well. The staff at the front desk is warm and welcoming. The owner Antonella is very nice. Always love staying here. Looking forward to another visit.
