ROSARIO RESORT AND SPA, CHARMING LOCATION BUT OLD PROPERTY

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 months ago

The room was spacious and clean. We had a beautiful view of the harbor. There were three of us. We had a living room bedroom kitchen and two bathrooms. There was a fold outbed in the living room. The hotel is very old. The furniture And carpet are dated also. We were told we had a full kitchen. We shopped and bought ice cream and there was no freezer. Refrigerator space was limited. There was no dishwasher or garbage disposal. The electric range was from the dinosaur age. We were told there would be no maid service and just ask for more towels. We were there for 3 days . This would have been okay, however, the room was still Pricey at over $300 a night!

Cliffside Suite review

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 months ago

We celebrated our anniversary at the Rosario Resort and had a wonderful time! The Cliffside Suite was spacious and comfortable. The view from the room is really the selling point- it’s expansive and provides views of the marina, waterfront and hotel. We really enjoyed walking around the mansion and learning about the Moran family and the property. We were lucky enough to catch Mr.Peacock play the piano and organ and loved the photos while he played. Definitely check out the downstairs original pool and mosaic floors as well as the lagoon by the marina. I was a bit nervous to visit because the reviews are spotty but we really wanted to check out the property and were pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed our visit. No the rooms are not cheap- but nothing in the San Juan’s is in the Summer. The room may be a bit outdated (hello taupe 90s ;) but it looked exactly like the photos when I booked so it’s exactly as expected + clean and comfortable. The property is huge! Definitely give it a shot and get lost a little. It’s a gem.

Filthy restrooms, grill food was terrible, store was way over-priced and under-stocked with a rude manager.

The Marina mens bathroom had towels & swimsuits on the floor for over 12 hours. At 8:30 am I mentioned it to the young man sitting outside at the towel desk, and instead of at least picking up easily 6 towels and a swimsuit he said housekeeping will do it. The bathroom on the side of the store was out of toilet paper, and filthy. The walking portion of the pier had dog feces several places for days. We had halibut and fries at the grill, and the fish batter was so sparse the fish was dried out and awful. Will Never return to eat there. The mansion had a mediocre buffet for breakfast for $22. The bacon was in a big slab and undercooked instead of separated. The extra $15 to use the ‘adult pool’ didn’t have enough lounge chairs, and the drink was nearly $20, and watered down. Get your act together! This is a beautiful place, but the management is dysfunctional.

Best Western rooms at Four Seasons prices.

The old mansion is beautiful. The saltwater pool is intact and the outdoor pool, cantilevered over the bay is great too. The restaurant has a nice old fashioned vibe, but my steak was tough. The cauliflower in tahini entree was excellent, but not enough for a dinner. Our room in the 2300 building was the biggest disappointment, dark dank and narrow. Yes we had a balcony facing the bay but for the price we were paying in July it was terrible. We got moved to the Bayside building, which was better. We will tru someplace else next time.

Outstanding experience - staff was amazing, great view from our room, menu at restaurant had many good options, incredible hiking/boating/kayaking/whalewatching nearby. And the evening musical entertainment was world class!
