The Victorian-style Fairmont Hotel Macdonald stands high, overlooking The North Saskatchewan River Valley, and provides easy walking access to many of the lovely sites Edmonton, Canada has to offer. You may chose to dine alongside a backdrop of the stunning river valley view in their award-winning restaurant, The Harvest Room, or perhaps enjoy a drink in their Confederate Lounge.

Overall a very well kept piece of Edmonton (further Canada) heritage, which both well represented/preserved and also has the modern amenities requires for a modern hotel. Rooms were renovated very well. lots of space, washroom was spacious. Maybe some issues with figuring out light switches, but overall not a huge concern. While I didn't use them, was nice to see USB-A and USB-C charge ports at bed and main table. Though these were likely just low current USB, for things like phone, and not enough to rely on for high-current USB-PD devices like notebook computers. Was here for the Waze meet-up and both the meeting room facilities and catering where well done. Food was very good and meeting spaces have the historic charm, but also have whats necessary for modern events. We did have an A/V production company, so not sure what was provided by the hotel and what was A/V. I did not test out the WiFi as I just relied on my cellular data, which I didn't have any issues with. I would say here again if within the area next time in Edmonton.

Had the best experience, very welcoming and hospitable. The room was gorgeous and the building in general is beautiful. The architecture of the building, and the landscape is just divine. I loved all the accommodations spent most of my time in the sauna, and having a spa day. Gym is also very well equipped.

The fact that things seem to run effortlessly and highly inviting is compliments only to the the team that Cole (GM), Antosh (Director of Food & Beverages), Joe, and Jerome put together. For the years that I've been frequenting this hotel I have never experienced or seen anything that was less than stellar: inclusive being the walk-in from outside entry; to check-in desk; to room conditions; to all dining areas [brunch; high tea; Harvest Room; Confederation Lounge]; to spa areas; as well the grounds of course!

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent service - honestly the best hotel service I’ve ever experienced. Could not have asked for a better stay.

This review is on the restaurant only - I did not stay in the hotel, but it looked nice hence I decided to have dinner in this hotel. I went to the Confed. Lounge, which is a pretty cosy area, you feel comfortable here. I ordered the Honey Oat Pint, and was pleasantly surprised. The Confed burger was offered with a choice of fries or salad. I chose the salad, and all was served within a reasonable time. The bread of the burger looked very basic, but the burger was good. I planned to have dessert too, but the burger was did not leave any space for that. The cappuccino was huge, but not the quality I expected in this upper class environment. The price was fair, but not low. As a side note: the music was annoying and totally not in line with the stylish ambiance.
