Reviews for Grand Isle Resort & Spa
Our family is staying here as I write this review- my wife and two sons, ages 11 and 12. The water here is absolutely stunning, and the beaches are tops. Like many have written, the lack of restaurant options gets old. We had groceries delivered prior to our arrival, so that does help. The restaurant does have decent food, just don't be in a hurry. There are a couple of waitresses who seem generally happy about waiting on you; others not so much. Although the restaurant is steps from the pool, don't plan on service poolside- not happening. Also don't plan on anyone helping you set up your pool chairs at this resort. My biggest gripe is related to our villa. There doesn't seem to be any common standard about how the owners are encouraged to decorate. We have met some folks who are staying in a villa like ours, same floor plan, that is really nicely done. I wish I could say the same about ours- it is the pits. The couch in the living room is so uncomfortable you cannot even use it. I tried to sit out on the balcony for coffee this morning, but the chairs are so old that they are not usable. That's really unfortunate in this setting. Lastly, the beds are some of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. When I called the desk to speak to the manager about this today, I did not receive a response. Again, the area is simply beautiful, but I would highly recommend renting a car to do some exploring. There's lots to do outside of this resort. I will say that the concierge has been most helpful and very courteous. We will return to the island, but I'm not sure we will be back to this particular resort.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Grand Isle. We had 12 people in our party and rented 2 units. Both were well-equipped with top of the line appliances, comfortable beds and sofas and plenty of space to spread out. Our views were so amazing that it was hard leaving the units. One family rented a golf cart and the other two did not. It was fun to have but definitely not a necessity especially with teens who could easily walk the property. The service there is amazing. Everyone is so friendly from Brendi and Cecil in the front office, to T-Roy at Hummingbird Hut. "Casey" at the bar was amazing as was everyone we came in contact with. John waited on us at the beach and Paul was always there ready to carry our things. Leon and Gail worked the grill and were great. I wish I could remember everyone's names bc you all deserve to be mentioned. As far as having one restaurant we knew that before we came so we were prepared to eat ar several locations off property. The food was great though when we ate at The Grille. We especially loved the breakfast. We also cooked in several times but you need to prepare ahead for that because groceries on the island are very expensive. We checked extra bags with food on our flights. The water and beaches at Grand Isle are stunning. We never had a problem getting beach chairs and there was plenty of room for everyone. Deidrik scheduled an excursion for us with Aquadisiac. It was so much fun and Logan and Fabian showed us some incredible sights. We snorkeked, ate an incredible lunch at a yacht club, saw the pigs and iguanas, and so much more. One piece of advice..take a sweatshirt and long pants with you on the boat. These boats fly and you cover a lot of ground. It is cool in the morning and returning in the late afternoon. Go to the Tropic of Cancer and eat at Tropic Breeze while you are there. Great food! Also, rent a boat from Minns in Georgetown and explore Elizabeth Harbor. We fell in love with this island and hope to return some day.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom - 2.5 bath, two story unit facing the ocean. The rooms were excellently appointed with every amenity you need and more. Marble floors and counter tops. Stainless steel appliances. Ensuite bath in master bedroom containing a jetted tub, separate shower and double sinks. Washer and dryer in unit with spectacular views of the ocean and your own private golf cart to explore the grounds. The rooms and view were amazing! However, the food in the restaurant needs improvement. Standard restaurant offerings, with average taste, watered down drinks and high prices. Though the servers were very attentive, the quality of the food needs work. After the first night we, decided to rent a car and ate at other restaurants off the property for the remainder of our stay. We were told that its common for guest from the hotel to seek our other restaurants after a couple of days. If the food were better here, this place would be excellent. Still, we enjoyed our time at Grand Isle. The staff was very kind, gracious, friendly and helpful. The pool man was very helpful in providing snorkeling gear and towels during our pool time. Overall, a great experience but in need of a better food experience.

I just called this hotel. The person answering the phone was so rude. Made me feel so unwelcome telling me we are booked for the next 2 months. What a shady service. Never coming to this hotel extremely rude.

Saeed, Caudero, and Dedrigh helped me retrieve a necklace I forgot at the resort. Exuma people are wonderful people, with great appreciation for tourists. We loved Grand Isle and will be coming back! Thank you to all the wonderful staff at the restaurant and pool as well. Intimate and relaxing vacation. Many thanks.
