Grand Isle Resort & Spa

We previously stayed & Sandals 10 years ago. This was our first time @ Grand Isle! Emerald Bay is just stunning! It was a wonderful villa, ability to use golf carts on property, had a great pool bar & restaurant with great views. 23 North is was a great addition for a more upscale dinner spot! It’s small and more quiet but we enjoyed it! They had water sports, floats, snorkel equipment for your use! I do wish they had more of a place to grab coffee & gift shop. I think over time they will continue to add more.

Unfortunately, our beds were infested with bed bugs. We stayed for 3 nights, noticed a few small bites here and there but thought it was beach fleas. When we returned home on day 4, we broke out into awful red bumps, that were all in vertical lines on our extremities. We immediately went to a doctor who confirmed the case. I have written the hotel but no response has come. In addition- our rooms were very "worn" with dirt in the corners and lots of black marks over all the walls, there was black hair balls in our bathroom. My children's room had flying ants. I called about this but no one came to help. The second day we were there I had to privately flag down and separately pay one of the cleaning staff to help us with these issues. The beach was beautiful and well maintained. The pool was very worn with lots of debris in the pool. Palapa food was not good and hidden under a dark cover, No 23 was delicious food and great service. We had a few nice experiences but mostly off hotel grounds. Do yourself a favor and pay slightly more for a different hotels. I regret staying at Grand Isle very much!

Great location, super villa, …. The service is abysmal, late check out even one minute … clear no (we asked for 1 hour in advance … considering the price ….) stuff left lying around for ages (towels, glasses,…) restaurant closed without notice (we were looking forward to try the steak house …) had to go outside as hotel guests in a rather disgusting restaurant as the only available in the hotel was full with external guests. Not very helpful front desk …huge attitude problem, in this price range a worldwide low. Breakfast very limited … never heard of cappuccino or caffe latte and very limited menu(considering the 1k+ pricetag per day could expect more ) . Wait time for egg breakfast 45 minutes (only table occupied)

Thank goodness for the Grand Isle Resort! We rented a home on little Exuma called inspiration point and it was completely misrepresented! Said it’s a newly renovated luxury villa, not even close. There were certain areas that have been updated but there were unsafe conditions. The grill looked like something on It was going to fall off sagging deck, rotted rusted railings outside need of paint and it wasn’t just a normal wear and tear that we know saltwater can do ..interior had a trap door in living area that wasn’t safe, no rail on a narrow steps up to the master with a plate glass window right next to it toilet seats were not the correct size.. And the list goes on… we couldn’t stay there. Overpriced and pictures posted in listing by Exuma Exclusives were not accurate! We were standing in a foreign country with nowhere to go except sleep in our rental car. We had seen grand Isle resort before, but never stayed there and had no idea where else to try to go. We had always stayed in single-family homes and they’ve all been wonderful until this one. We were praying They had a place ..they had one unit for us available, or we literally would have been homeless for over a week. Thank you grand isle resort you have a beautiful property, staff and amenities! We will definitely be back!

A very nice resort with villas. We rented a two-bedroom villa. The kitchen was fully stocked and ready for use. Daily cleaning was included in the price. The beach is beautiful, but it should be cleaned more often. The gardeners should clean the beach instead of trimming the hedges at 7am. The staff was very friendly, but the restaurant staff should smile more often; they looked like they were there as a punishment. Overall, we were very pleased and can recommend this resort. We would happily return ourselves. PS: the security staff is always smiling and ready to help, especially at the entrance gates.
