We had a fantastic time. The villa was great and the staff exceptional. We loved the restaurants and especially the carrot soup at 23 North! And they make the BEST Pina coladas at Palapa!

I was disappointed with the accommodation. The resort is very nice, everyone is helpful, but my villa was not worth the price of $1,500 per night. For that price, everything has to be perfect. My villa had stains on the plaster, rusty furniture on the terrace, and pieces of the wall falling off. Plus, I booked a villa with a sea view, but all I could see was a river and a harbor...

My boyfriend and I scheduled massages with Shelly and they were absolutely perfect. Individualized for our specific needs, calming environment, meticulous room. Shelly treated each area with expertise and the perfect amount of pressure. Will definitely return.

We stayed at grand isle resort in February 2026 and were a little disappointed by the caliber of the hotel compared to the price. The resort felt more like an apartment complex with cheap finishes, cheap chairs, low quality food, and minimal service. The website does a great job of hiding reality. The food especially irked us because it was SO expensive for what it was. For reference, our lunch at Palapa was $175 with tip for fish & chips, a burger, 2 beers, and 2 pina coladas. The higher end restaurant, 23° North, was also exceptionally expensive for food that would never pass for “fine dining” in the US. Overall, I would have expected this from a resort that cost 20% less, but it didn’t feel worth the price we paid. I don’t think we’ll be returning.

I had a 80 minute massage with Shelly and she was excellent!! Shelly was professional and accommodating by getting me in a little early so I could get the full 80 minutes. She gave an excellent massage and I will be requesting her again when I come back to visit.
