L'Albereta in Erbusco (Brescia), Italy

The Albereta welcomes you to a refined setting, which is marked by good taste: antique-style lounges and terraces with extraordinary vistas of Lake Iseo, between the hills and vineyards of Franciacorta. From the first coffee in the morning to the last glass in the evening, the Albereta reinterprets the bistro tradition in an Italian way, whilst the new restaurant highlights the cuisine of yesteryear. Add to this the magic of the opening ceiling of your room to gaze up at the stars from the comfort of your bed and an exclusive visit to the family cellars at Bellavista and Contadi Castaldi. Finally the Albereta is a place dedicated to health and beauty thanks to its Medical Spa Espace Vitalité Henri Chenot.

Lost in the middle of ancient grounds standing among the vineyards of Franciacorta, an area famous for its sparkling wines, L'Albereta enjoys an enchanting landscape dominated by Lake Iseo. A private villa for many years, L'Albereta, which is now owned by the family of Carmen Moretti de Rosa, has 57 extremely refined suites and bedrooms: all different from each other. They each have a delightful outdoor private area. Just a few steps from the Bellavista family cellar, L'Albereta has major assets to attract gourmets, since it offers a family bistro, the VistaLago, and a gourmet restaurant, the LeoneFelice. Chef Fabio Abbattista runs the kitchens of both establishments. But L'Albereta is the ideal retreat for those wishing to take care of their health and well-being. The Espace Chenot Health Wellness SPA offers a rigorous detox method, combined with innovative diagnostic tests. It is one the most advanced detox and anti-ageing skincare programmes in the world.

This beautiful facility covers all bases. The grounds and countryside are gorgeous, the food is wonderful with service to match and the spa offerings extensive. The location is remote so a car is necessary, especially to explore the nearby lakes, Iseo and Garda. Both are worth the trip,

L'Albereta is so special that should be included in every itinerary in Northern Italy! I was amazed  with our stay. The hotel is charming, cosy and chic. Staff is attentive and kind and there are so many activities that you can do to explore the region: wine tasting - the unique Franciacorta experience, tour to Lake Iseo and the spa, no words to describe the treatments. Food is also a highlight and Milano is less than an hour away!

My husband and I ended up with three unexpected nights in Italy. We had originally planned on leaving from Venice and with flight changed, ended up needing to fly out of Milan. We began searching for a perfect property somewhere between Venice and Milan that would provide a peaceful place for some R&R, ideally in the countryside. L'Albereta couldn't have fit that description any more perfectly. When we found it online, it seemed like the perfect fit. When we arrived, we knew it was *more* than perfect. It didn't just tick all of the boxes, it exceeded expectations in every way. The property is gorgeous, set in Erbusco in the Franciacorta area, surrounded by vineyards. We had a car (you really do need a car to make this easily accessible) so could easily explore Lake Iseo, Bergamo and go wine tasting nearby. Our room was incredible spacious with a perfect little garden patio to sit outside and have an evening glass of wine. The bed was incredibly comfortable - we slept better there than we had for the month prior traveling through the region. The common spaces are perfect - something we particularly love - and there were many places to lounge and read a book or enjoy a coffee or cocktail. The restaurants on site are all wonderful. We ate at the Bistro twice and at La Filiale once. Everything we had was great. I'm not even a 'pizza person' and the pizza at La Filiale was so good we almost went back for round two. Then there's the service, and to be honest, THAT is the heart of this place. They knock it out of the park with personalization. It seemed like everyone knew us shortly after arriving - knew which room we were in, knew where we were hoping to go to dinner, and checked in with us to provide updates on dining, etc. This is a region that's all about reservations so working with the team in advance to arrange dinner reservations, lunch reservations, wine tastings, etc. is key if you have places you want to go.The concierge team is 5* through and through, and the dining staff is equally wonderful. All around, fabulous place that feels like such a little hidden gem and a slice of serenity. We hope to be back one day!

Lovely and charming HĂ´tel. The common areas are truly lovely and charming. But the bathrooms in the rooms are disastrous. You can experience a "4 seasons shower": it starts nice and warm, then suddenly becomes lukewarm, then cold and then super hot. Every time someone upstairs, downstairs or next door flushes the toilet, you can hear a very loud and disturbing noise. Lovely hotel but impossible to relax if you are woken up by anyone in the building going to the loo or if you can't take a shower in peace... They need renovation works on those bathrooms urgently!

I have been staying at this hotel for several years now. Love the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere with excellent service and installations. This place is pure bliss, perfect escape from big cities, to just come here and do nothing other than indulge yourself.
