The Best Indoor Pool for Serious Swimmers

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Charming and peaceful resort. The large indoor lap pool exceeded my expectations. If you are a swimmer, who loves to swim laps, this is the hotel for you. Although the outdoor pool is lovely, it's tiny and more for recreation than swimming. We did indulge in the amazing spa massages. Although the massages were very very expensive, we chose to do massages over eating in the restaurants on site. The spa lounges are clean and luxurious. We were quite disappointed by the The Essex Experience. Not worth the trip. The local Hannaford grocery store proved to be much more of a resource for us than anything else. Service has been quite attentive. We didn't have a large pot for pasta, and the hotel employee brought us one! We also asked for more coffee for the Keurig, and the staff delivered. The laundry app is very quirky. We had a lot of trouble with the app accepting our usual credit cards. After much struggle and even fraud alerts from our bank, we finally were able to do a load of laundry. So, the five stars are for the charm, the quiet, the service, and mainly the indoor pool.

A friend and I went to the Vermont Quilt Festival in Burlington and stayed here for the night after a funfiulled but exhausting day. Great place to unwind. Room was comfortable and quiet. We had a delightful dinner at the dining room. Will definitely be back.

A Wonderful Home Base for Exploring the Region

I traveled to Essex Junction for the BMW Motorcycle Rally. While I enjoyed the rally, having 3 full days to explore the area and return each afternoon to the Essex Resort was just wonderful. And, the entire staff seemed so friendly and welcoming to me and a number of other BMW riders who stayed at the property.
