We organized a week-long meeting of an international group of software researchers at the Essex during October. The managers and staff at Essex Resort exceeded all of our expectations, with responsive, flexible, and creative handling of any issues that arose. The conference room was excellent for our needs, with enough room for 30 attendees to sit comfortably at a large U-shaped table, with room in the back for serving breakfast, lunch, and breaks, allowing the attendees to get up and serve themselves coffee and snacks whenever they needed a break. We ate all breakfasts and lunches at the hotel, and three of our dinners, with a buffet set up by the hotel for our group. The food was always fresh, local, well prepared, and appreciated by the group, and compared favorably with meals from past meetings served at venues from around the world. All in all the meeting was a great success, and the Essex Resort made a big difference in bringing that about.

It is very nice. It was quiet, pleasant and welcoming. I think it is worth visiting if you can afford it! I would recommend trying to find a room in the eastern part of the complex. The views are nice. I met a nice receptionist and asked her to go on a date with me, but she said no. She said she was taken. I asked her if Liam Neilson rescued her. She did not get my joke. It might because his name is actually Neeson and my mispronunciation threw her off. Either way, strike out. Everything else was nice.

Our whole family came up for our wedding and were delighted with the accommodations. The suite was roomy and perfect for small gatherings. Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. The food was terrific and so was the Spa, the pool, hot tub and gym! We were very happy with our stay! Would definitely go back!

The start was interesting. Arrived during a rain storm and because there was a wedding reception that night I had to park pretty far away and carry all the pet stuff and my items through the rain. After that...thumbs up! Stayed in a pet friendly room which was far cleaner than I expected it to be. Room had a nice kitchen area as well. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Dog treats and a little dessert counter in the lobby. Nice grounds to walk around and in a very quiet area. Both restaurants were outstanding as well. I shall return!

Nice place but apparently website malfunctioned and severely overbooked. Tried to kick me out second night, but I protested since I had booked 3months in advance. Was notifed by a Tom Smith who I attempted to contact through email and phone. He never responded so I didn't know till I arrived whether I had a room for two nights or not.
