Family of 4, during school vacation, everything was exceptional and I would highly recommend this resort. Horse tour on palomino island is a must, along with a trip to the rain forest. Dinner at blossoms was great.

We always enjoy this Location. Everything was great. If you purchase the meal plan watch charges on your bill. Our bill was 500 dollars additional because of charges that were improperly charged. All was fixed in the end. Also gratuities were included. We were not told until half way through our trip. Excess speding that was not needed. Still love the El Conquistador.

Just left the hotel after a week stay. Beautiful resort, did not seem as dated as some posts said. If you are a pool person, it is a good resort. If you are beach person, it is inconvenient and a process. Give yourself 45 minutes plus to get there or back. I prefer to walk out to a beach. Tram to boat, wait in line not worth effort. They don't allow you to bring your own food or drinks to beach and search your bags which they don't tell you until you lug a cooler down to dock. They were not friendly about it either. Felt like their main concern was making money not customer service. Service very hit and miss. Steakhouse was good service. Had to walk out of Italian restaurant due to no service. Overall not waldorf level hotel. Would not go back as there are too many nice resorts with beach right there and better service.

I stayed in the Las Casitas part of the property, with a one bedroom unit. I had a beautiful view that could not be improved upon. The balcony area was comfortable and shielded from the sun most of the day, but still allowing an expansive view. You might want to ask about this, as the top floor units are fully exposed to sun on the balcony. I stayed for six nights, and that is a true test of comfort, amenities and service. The comfort of beddings and furnishings was excellent. My casita was kept exceptionally clean. The amenities are an array of eating venues that span upscale to mid level. Areas are clearly designated for children's activities as well as some quieter for adults. They have a water slide for the kids, but keep this away from most of the resort. From my unit, I was never exposed to any noise of this. They also have a store on site that provides for basic needs as well as wine, beer and other liquors - of course rum. The service was consistently excellent throughout the vast property. An island with a lovely beach, restaurants and bars is accessible through a ferry - no extra charge for this. The grounds are lovely and dramatic in many lightings. My colleagues stayed in the more traditional hotel areas of the resort and said they had fabulous views and great rooms. My favorite restaurant was Sting Ray Cafe - it offered superb sea food, seaside seating and reasonably priced. The only drawback to El Conquistador is that it is about 40 - 60 from San Juan, because of traffic. The resort offers a shuttle from the airport, but to go into San Juan requires a car or taxi. I rate the location as excellent because it is so beautiful and self contained. Just know that before you go. I hope that I have an opportunity to say here again.

Beautiful location with lots to Do! Ocean views are amazing. Everything is expensive then they tax it 11.5%. We came home broke but had a great time.the beach is a ferry ride away you can't get in the water near the resort. Friendly staff clean facilities. Water park was great too!
