Our three bedroom casita had a wonderful ocean view and the kitchen and baths were adequate--excellent cleanliness and not one spot of mold. The service is also adequate; reactive and not speedy but good enough. The "butler" brought us water when we checked in and was never seen again. Housekeeping is excellent. The infinity pool at the casitas is spectacular although showing wear; one day the hot tub was out, one day the pool itself had low water and wasn't flowing over the edge. Jose the waiter was sweet but soooo slow. And this is when there were only 6 families in the pool. My major issue is with Palomino Island. The journey from the casitas requires a golf cart ride, a long walk through the main hotel, an elevator ride, a funicular ride down to the water and then a 15 min ferry. In high season this must be a nightmare of waiting. We did well, and it still took over an hour to get to the beach. The water is glorious and plenty of chairs, but THERE IS ESSENTIALLY NO SERVICE on this island. Snack bar and bathrooms like a bad state park.

Husband and I want different things from a vacation. He wants adventure and I want luxury. Las Casitas was the perfect balance for our family of 4 (kids 8, 11). Our ocean view villa was to die for - well worth the upgrade. We were so comfortable and the housekeeping staff kept it immaculate throughout our stay (what a treat!). It was so nice to have a kitchen for quick breakfasts and snacks. We rented a car from the airport in San Juan. It took an hour to get to Fajardo. No big deal. We were a 20 minute drive to El Yunque rain forest and hiked to La Mina waterfall. We kayaked the bio bay which is 5 minutes from Las Casitas. From our villa, it was a quick 2 minute walk to El Conquistador for restaurants, game room, the marina, and the ferry to Palomino Island. We had a blast at the island snorkeling and swimming. The beach is pristine. We all loved the ferry ride too. My daughters also really enjoyed the kids quest and found all of the colored bands throughout the property in two days. Everyone we interacted with was so kind and the resort is gorgeous. We were really glad that we chose to stay in Las Casitas instead of at El Conquistador. The villas are so roomy, quiet, and the area is very family friendly. We spent our last day in Old San Juan before the flight home. Best vacation we have ever taken. A few tips: 1. Dinner at La Estacion (A mile away) was amazing! 2. We ate lunch and bought pastries at a nearby local bakery called Panaderia Monte Brisas. It is a local favorite and fantastic 3. Rent a car. We had free parking at Las Casitas. You'll save a fortune on excursions. You can do the rain forest without a guide. It is very similar to a national forest in the States. 4. Do the Bio Bay tour with Kayaking Puerto Rico. They were clearly the best operation. The bio bay was the highlight of our trip. We were all so glad to have done it.

We stayed five nights at Las Casitas Waldorf Astoria in a two bedroom oceanfront condo. The grounds were spectacular - lush, private, and perfectly maintained. Our view of the islands just off the coast never got old. However, with the refreshing crystal blue swimming pools, tennis courts with mountain range views, funicular (ride it!), ferries to the private island, and easy access to the Fajardo park via the back gate, we were rarely in our room to soak up the scenery! Fajardo is an easy drive from the San Juan airport - rent a car, though, as vehicle service is pricey and parking at Las Casitas is abundant. Using the resort as our home base we went snorkeling on Spread Eagle II and kayaked the biobay with Kayaking Puerto Rico. Both excursions were with every penny. Our condo was well-equipped and clean, though we did have an issue with the dishwasher. It was promptly fixed. The best review I can offer relates to my own carelessness - I left my wedding rings in the safe. I called back the next day from Dan Juan. The staff was EXTREMELY reassuring, security personnel found my jewelry and moved it to he main building's safe. They offered to ship it to my home via verified mail if o did not wish to make he return trip. Excellent service!! This resort is a jewel in he Hilton crown.

We ended up staying at Las Casitas based on the reviews I read on tripadvisor. I was very happy with my choice. The resort compound is huge- I had no idea how big until we actually got there. Our room was in the section closest to the El Conquistador which I liked. Just a quick walk to everything we needed but quiet at Las Casitas. Staff super friendly and clean room- thats all I really need. We would spend the first half of the day at Palomino island and return back to the hotel for the water park ( half day price). Palomino Island was great. My son saw a huge iguana and was excited and I sat back and was able to relax drinking my pina colada- a win for all! Definitely a family friendly resort. The water park was the perfect size for my son (6 yrs old) . There are several restaurants on property and many choices. However if you have access to a car- literally on the other side of the resort ( I think the staff entrance) there is a strip of restaurants. We ate there- great food, great prices, and the people seem so greatful that you came. We got recommendations for the staff/bartenders.
