First, I have to say we had an amazing family vacation. I read all reviews. Good and bad. I only experienced GREATNESS. The property is stunning. Situated high on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It was clean and well maintained. We stayed in a one bedroom casitas. It was impeccably cleaned every day. The staff is amazing. Smiling and friendly. So many people were helpful and kind. It is perfectly safe. Lots of activities to do with kids. We had a small kitchen so we went to the grocery store and made breakfast and lunch most days. The meals we did eat at the resort were a pricey and the food was fair. We had two great meals off the resort at La Estacion and El Pescador. I would recommend getting a casitas. Well worth the extra money. People in other reviews complained of the walking. I did not understand why people did not like walking around a beautiful resort. If you didn't want to walk there was always transportation readily available. The island was STUNNING. I thought I wouldn't like the fact that there was no beach right on the property. Palomino island makes up for it ten fold. We stayed there April not let the forecast fool you. There is a rain forest nearby and it may rain somewhere at some point but it never lasted long and would always clear up. I would HIGHLY recommend this resort. I hope we can vacation here again!

I am a self admitted hotel and resort snob and I can honestly say our trip and stay at Las Casitas in Puerto Rico was my favorite placed I have ever stayed. We were traveling with our 9 year old daughter, and so the idea of a Casita with a full kitchen and separate sleeping area for her really appealed to us. The Casita surpassed our expectations, it is basically a awesome 1 bedroom apartment! Full kitchen, large bathroom, INCREDIBLE view of the Ocean, private patio to have breakfast or wine on and look at the gorgeous blue water. If you rent a Casita I highly recommend going to the grocery and buying all the basics to make snacks and breakfast, including salt, pepper, olive oil and Pam spray. The Casita does provide pots, pans, silverware, glasses and dishes but no other supplies to cook. You will have a oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher and full size refrigerator and freezer. So perfect for a family. The other big reason we picked this resort was the Coqui Waterpark you get access to (at a small fee). That ended up being, great but not as much of a highlight as we thought it would be because we had no idea, how incredible the Palomino Island experience would be and wanted to spend all our time there!! Palomino Island is a private Island that El Conquistador and Las Casitas guests can take a free 10 minute ferry to and it a island of fun and sun. Horseback riding? Check. Waverunners? Check. Best Pina Colada ever. Check. Crystal clear water. Check. Honestly, I did not realize what an amazing value and asset picking this hotel which includes this magical island would be. The property is big and beautiful, but not overwhelming. It sits atop a huge mountain and the views are amazing. They have 2 pools, one being a Infinity pool high above the Atlantic Ocean and then you also have access to all the El Conquistadors pools. The cool thing is we have assess to El Conquistadors pools and adminities but they do not have access to Las Casitas, so the vibe is never crowded and feels more chill and relaxing. The hotel shows a little wear, but is still incredibly well maintained and I honestly felt it made it feel a little more authentically Caribbean. We cannot wait to come back, everything exceeded our expectations and if you want a fabulous family get away, that is not cheesy and too kid focused but can keep everyone content this is the perfect place. I would also highly recommend getting a rental car. This way you can explore Old San Juan, take yourself to the Yunque Rainforest and get to all the restaurants much much cheaper then taking a taxi. I had no idea Puerto Rico and Fajardo was so magical, and we will be talking about and recommending this resort to friends and family for a long time to come.

Our family of six stayed here in late July. Even before we arrived, we were contacted by our personal concierge, Ana Colon. She was able make all of the reservations. From the second we stepped foot onto the property we were astonished. Lush and beautiful barely touch upon describing Las Casitas! After we checked-in, we were met by our butler, Gilberto who escorted us to our villa and gave us the tour of the villa and offered tips about the property. His attention to detail went well above and beyond for the duration of our stay. One evening, he surprised our children with a "candy bar" for them to enjoy before heading to bed! Upon our departure, he made sure he saw us off and we had the kids take a picture with him. We were in Villa 5400 - the last on the property. Though a 15 minute walk to the main resort, it was quiet and offered amazing views from the living space and master suite. (Hint: Take a bath with the double doors open and the drapes drawn for an amazing view and tranquil experience.) If needed, we could always call for a shuttle to and from the main hotel. In the evening, my husband and I were able to spend time alone to finish dinner while the kids took the shuttle back to the villa. Steban was usually the man driving the kids "home" and always filled us in that the arrived back safely. He was the nicest gentleman and the kids loved driving "shotgun" with their new friend. The food at the hotel was good - the breakfast buffet at Las Brisas was phenomenal! We tried Cafe Caribe on our first morning. The food wasn't good, it was over crowded and honestly, it felt like dining at a Denny's. We did not go back. For lunch, we usually ate at the BallyHo Bar in the marina - great food, service and was the perfect break in the day between the water park and beach. There is so much to do while staying here! It took us four days to leave the property! Both of the funiculars down to the Marina and water taxi worked all week minus our last day. We were told they are being updated and replaced soon. The water taxis were working the majority of the week, but when one was broken, the lines to the beach were insane. The water park is worth visiting in the morning wen it opens. A little before lunch time it gets very crowded with hotel guests and other visitors - it is open to the public as well. Overall, we throughly enjoyed our stay at Las Casitas! It is a memory our family will cherish and we hope to return again soon.
