Reviews for Nemacolin

Opulence!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I am currently stayin at the Nemacolin Resort. I have been going to Nemacolin Resort for years. There is no place on the east coast of the USA that can top this resort. I hate chain resorts they don't offer the person to staff ratio. Even the clientele seems to blend in with the personality and the ambiance. I am black and I only come here and bring other family member because I'm not paying $1000k per night for drama and get kicked out. If people here don't like me because of my color I can't tell. Yes I said it! Nemacolin Resort will always be my second home💝.

Oh My - How Perfect!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

One of the very few places that really is - perfect. Everything, in every way. We have stayed in the Chateau and the re-imagined Lodge. The Lodge is up-to-the-minute with technology, no light switches, no pulling curtains, everything is done with the touch of a button. Bathrooms are gorgeous, the food is outstanding. But what is the absolute best? The people!! Every single person, everyone, goes two steps beyond. I would see some of the butlers in the hallways, they always chatted. I would like to give a special "shout-out" to Alaya in the Chateau gift shop; Brooke & Justin, valets; and Rupesh at Fawn & Fable. Thank you, Nemacolin, for doing everything right. We look forward to seeing you again.

Great Landscaping & Decor. Meals a Disappointment

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Primary reason for being in Farmington was to visit Fallingwater and needed a place to stay. It was also my wedding anniversary so wanted to make it a special stay. We had never heard of Nemacolin. We stayed at the Grand Lodge which was pretty nice as it just got renovated. The grounds/landscaping was incredibly well manicured and enjoyable. Room decor was top notch. The room bar had pretty much anything you would want, except a bottle opener. A request to front desk yielded nothing. Bathtub drain was broken but that got fixed rather quickly. Fancy electronic convivences everywhere that turn out to be problematic. Staffing was highly attentive and pleasant. LOTS of opportunities to tip so bring a role of cash. Wish there was a no-tipping policy as the tension over tipping spoiled the experience for me. After all the hype over evening meals I was expecting something above average. Unfortunately, the meal we had at the Fawn & Fable was a serious disappoint. For the money I will never ever eat there again. I will say, however, that they really know how to make mixed drinks. There was also a dress code for dinner that required a jacket, etc. Half the people eating that evening looked like they just came from the gym. I felt like a fool having dressed up for the occasion. To end on a positive note, the place was super quiet, and you felt like the only guests. That was very nice.
