Reviews for The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island

Great Staff but facility needs some TLC

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

We spent six nights at the hotel with four grandchildren. The staff here is wonderful, many have been working there for years. From the beach to the bell staff, everyone is very friendly. Some of the people who made us feel very welcome were Morris at the front door, Chantrelle on the switchboard, Brian the server at Coast and David at the beach. Eating outside on the covered patio at Coast is great for children. There is a ping pong table/putting green/cornhole area with artificial turf where the kids can play after dinner. The food at Coast is very good. All of the shops are exceptional and many are familiar brands. Overall the condition of the entire facility is tired. The fabric sofa in our suite had multiple stains and there was frayed carpet against the wall in the bedroom. That being said, the housekeeping staff did their best and the glass in the sliding doors was always clean. The baby pool was apparently under construction but no one worked on it the entire time we were there and it looked like nothing had been done for months. The entire pool area is just tired. The pavers around the pool are stained and need power washed. Seaside environments are tough, but the structural steel supporting the canopy over the patio at Coast is extremely rusted and in dire need of paint. Not the best thing to have over your head while enjoying a meal. We were at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida in September of 2025 and that facility is in much better condition.

I just want to give a shout out to Carlotta who works in the spa. She was so kind and helpful. I’m so grateful for her.

Wonderful place and incredible hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Wonderful, one of the best kept hotel I’ ve ever been. I was really impressed by the service: everybody working there was doing an incredible job, from front desk to room service. For me it’s the best hospitality you could experience. Food was good I wished they had more options but I was there with a group. The location is beautiful. I really recommend this hotel.

Bucket List weekend at the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

From the time we pulled in the Ritz Carlton until we pulled out, we were treated like royalty. Hannah was very kind & professional at the front desk. Anthony the Bellman was super friendly & did a great job with our luggage. Whitley our waitress at the Coast restaurant was very friendly & professional & did a nice job of helping us make choices. Tyler was super friendly helping us rent bikes and telling us a really fun bike ride. Tyler brought our car up when we had to leave and did a great job. It was hard to leave we had so much fun at this Ritz. We even road horses on the beach using Happy Trails and it was only a 10-15 minute walk from the Ritz to ride the horses.

Horrible experience. Kids gone wild. Stay away if your looking for chill time.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Horrible. Kids running wild everywhere, no where to sit at the bars, so loud and out of control. $1,300 per night and you have to pay for wifi. They sell this idealistic experience but it’s aweful. Salt and the gym are great, everything else is like being at a Disney hotel. Wow what a terrible disappointment.
