Riad Fes, Relais & Chateaux in Fes, Morocco

Strategically located just 25 minutes from Fès Airport, the Riad Fès exudes an air of refined serenity amid the bustle of the city. A perfect example of Hispanic-Moorish architecture, the stylish hotel is arranged around four distinct patios. Ornate courtyards ranging from sober baroque to dazzling mosaic patterns and an impressive Fassi lamp flanked by artfully carved stucco arches fuse Andalusian whimsy with age-old Moroccan design. Begin your day on the rooftop terrace with a panoramic view of the Medina with its minarets against blue skies and the gentle green curves of the Atlas Mountains beyond. All 30 rooms are individually decked out in sumptuous textiles and warm-hued wooden furnishings. Filigreed bedside lamps next to traditionally carved or tufted precious cloth headboards reflect meticulous attention to detail, enhanced by must-have modern amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen satellite televisions, and elegant Tadelakt or Italian Carrara marble bathrooms with plush bathrobes and slippers. The Riad Fés beckons you to relax in lavish oriental style at its Spa by Cinq Mondes. Unwind by the outdoor pool, in the cleansing steam of the Hammam or take that much-needed time-out and book a pampering massage.

Cuisine at the Riad Fés equals the sophistication and exclusivity of its surroundings. Secure a seat on the patio near the reflecting pool at L'Ambre restaurant. Serenaded by the tinkling fountains and soft sounds of traditional music, feast on a modern interpretation of fine Moroccan cuisine such as pastille of pigeon and shrimp tajine. You do not need to leave the hotel in search of a nightcap. Instead, retreat to trendy L'Alcazar Bar located on the Andalusian Patio, which is reminiscent of the Alhambra. For oenophiles, the Riad Fés houses a Wine Bar featuring a comprehensive selection of exquisite Moroccan vintages. If you are looking to take home more than store-bought souvenirs, partake in a Moroccan cooking class hosted by the hotel's chef. Before learning how to assemble a delectable three-course meal, follow your instructor to the town's busy souks to pick the best and freshest ingredients. No matter how you choose to spend your time, each experience is certain to be special at the Riad Fés.

We spent 3 nights at this luxury Riad in the heart of the Fes Medina - a perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of the alleyways. The room was very comfortable with all amenities you need and our room had a private terrace. Both hotel and restaurant staff were always attentive and kind for whatever you requested. Breakfast was excellent each morning and we had one dinner which was just average. The rooftop deck however regardless if you are staying at the Riad or not is a MUST to visit for a drink regardless the time of day - it is spectacular! My husband and I had a spa day where our treatment was to be 1hr and 30 minutes long followed by a complimentary light lunch (2 delicous lamb sliders with salad) where we ate by the pool. Both out treatments were executed identically so the staff are very well trained but neither of us enjoyed the massage portion of the treatment we chose - totally our fault - but still a great experience for a Moroccan massage. My only complaint was we were shorted about 12 minutes of our treatment time and as anyone who goes to a spa knows - that matters - as you feel like you are getting ripped off. With no watch until the end of the treatment, I am not sure where that happened but it is something that the staff should be aware of and we didnt say anything because we felt too embarrassed to do so as they were all so lovely.

This was just the perfect place to experience Fes. While the Medina can be intimidating and fun at the same time, the quiet of this Riad is the perfect contrast. Find Harold in the restaraunt and you will be part of his family and very welcomed! Enjoy!

The Riad Fes is a truly wonderful place to stay with the best atmosphere, wonderful accommodations, and the warmest people. We felt so welcome and comfortable, where hospitality shines and you feel so at home. We loved our room (actually we had two, having moved from a deluxe room to a suite for our third and final night), and enjoyed the delicious breakfast including omelets, cheeses, fruits, and breads in wide assortment and to satisfy all tastes. In particular I would like to mention Redouan, the manager, who was so kind and friendly to us on a personal level. This is a first class, 5-star Riad, not your typical average Riad but far more elegant and beautiful, with several magnificent courtyards and beautiful views. Treat yourself to a memorable stay in an amazing city, where the feeling is authentic and the surroundings magnificent!

Very historic. Good restaurant as well. This is a hotel that blends in with the character of the city itself to give you the full experience of being somewhere ancient, but is well updated. Shower in the room wasn't quite hot or strong enough, but otherwise, a very good stay.

Staying in Riad fez was a welcome treat. After over a week of delicious and healthy fixed breakfasts of yogurt, bread, jams and fruit; it was nice to wake up to a full buffet with hot food and EGGS! I had my first hot breakfast in Morocco, and my first omelette finally. the riad is beautiful to say the least, and the staff was very accommodating. Beds were super comfortable and rooms were equipped with all the basic necessities and a big plus was the Nespresso machine in the room.
