Riad Fes, Relais & Chateaux in Fes, Morocco

Strategically located just 25 minutes from Fès Airport, the Riad Fès exudes an air of refined serenity amid the bustle of the city. A perfect example of Hispanic-Moorish architecture, the stylish hotel is arranged around four distinct patios. Ornate courtyards ranging from sober baroque to dazzling mosaic patterns and an impressive Fassi lamp flanked by artfully carved stucco arches fuse Andalusian whimsy with age-old Moroccan design. Begin your day on the rooftop terrace with a panoramic view of the Medina with its minarets against blue skies and the gentle green curves of the Atlas Mountains beyond. All 30 rooms are individually decked out in sumptuous textiles and warm-hued wooden furnishings. Filigreed bedside lamps next to traditionally carved or tufted precious cloth headboards reflect meticulous attention to detail, enhanced by must-have modern amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen satellite televisions, and elegant Tadelakt or Italian Carrara marble bathrooms with plush bathrobes and slippers. The Riad Fés beckons you to relax in lavish oriental style at its Spa by Cinq Mondes. Unwind by the outdoor pool, in the cleansing steam of the Hammam or take that much-needed time-out and book a pampering massage.

Cuisine at the Riad Fés equals the sophistication and exclusivity of its surroundings. Secure a seat on the patio near the reflecting pool at L'Ambre restaurant. Serenaded by the tinkling fountains and soft sounds of traditional music, feast on a modern interpretation of fine Moroccan cuisine such as pastille of pigeon and shrimp tajine. You do not need to leave the hotel in search of a nightcap. Instead, retreat to trendy L'Alcazar Bar located on the Andalusian Patio, which is reminiscent of the Alhambra. For oenophiles, the Riad Fés houses a Wine Bar featuring a comprehensive selection of exquisite Moroccan vintages. If you are looking to take home more than store-bought souvenirs, partake in a Moroccan cooking class hosted by the hotel's chef. Before learning how to assemble a delectable three-course meal, follow your instructor to the town's busy souks to pick the best and freshest ingredients. No matter how you choose to spend your time, each experience is certain to be special at the Riad Fés.

This hotel was magical. I felt like I took a magic carpet ride to get here. You walk down a street with people and walls and than you step into a door and are simply taken away. It was beyond my wildest dreams. I just loved it!!!!

This was the best place we stayed in our 2 week trip through Morocco. Well located within the medina, a short walk from the blue gate, this riad is a sight to behold. The lobby is a masterclass in tile mosaic, carved stucco, excessively sweet tea, and confidence sapping elevators. The room we stayed in was large and wonderfully adorned with berber rugs. The staff is attentive, bordering on obsequious. The highlight is the rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the medina. Go up just before sunset to catch the call to prayer from hundreds of minarets below. Breakfast in the hotel is excellent, but the food at dinner is only OK, standard chicken tajine, so do yourself a favor and book something outside the hotel.

This is hotel hides itself in the historical part of the medina. It is all walk without car access. Once inside, the deco in the hall is unbelievable with all Moroccan elements. The rooms are all different and nicely done. Make sure you check out the bar on roof top: the view is amazing.

You probably need one full day to see most of Fes (awesome city), then one day to see Volubulis and Meknes etc., - so likely 3 nites = and this is a great place to spend it. Yes a few minor flaws. A heated pool in the non-summer months would be nice. One of our rooms was even with the next door rooftops, so the bathroom windows looked out onto the roofs of which neighbors had rooftop patios. I could see out clearly, which means the others could see in. They need to smoke or opaque the glass. Otherwise suite rooms we had were great. They have a connecting suite set-up which is good for a family, since many riads don't. They also had king beds, which some don't, they also had a/c. TV and a sitting area, lots of closet space, nice bath, and a nice spa. They walked us to dinner thru the maze which was nice. Pretty rooftop bar and view. There are stairs/steps throughout the hotel, so need to be ok with that. Pretty lobby. Basic nice breakfast. Would stay again and would recommend.

This is truly a "Dream hotel". Fabulous Riad located inside the old media of Fed city. Trust me that after making an exhaustive research of the best hotel in town, this ended being my best selection ever.... Belongs to the famous Relais & Chateaux group, also a member of Conde Nast Johansen's ...Not a better option available... Had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday with my family and still amazed to be in a such a beautiful hotel, with impressive service, facilities and quality. The terrace bar on the top, the restaurant with fabulous local dishes, the pool area, the spa, the lobby....You name it... Area Diakhate, Maitresse de Maison and all the team deserve full recognition of such a beautiful place!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!👍👍
