Riad Fes, Relais & Chateaux in Fes, Morocco
Strategically located just 25 minutes from Fès Airport, the Riad Fès exudes an air of refined serenity amid the bustle of the city. A perfect example of Hispanic-Moorish architecture, the stylish hotel is arranged around four distinct patios. Ornate courtyards ranging from sober baroque to dazzling mosaic patterns and an impressive Fassi lamp flanked by artfully carved stucco arches fuse Andalusian whimsy with age-old Moroccan design. Begin your day on the rooftop terrace with a panoramic view of the Medina with its minarets against blue skies and the gentle green curves of the Atlas Mountains beyond. All 30 rooms are individually decked out in sumptuous textiles and warm-hued wooden furnishings. Filigreed bedside lamps next to traditionally carved or tufted precious cloth headboards reflect meticulous attention to detail, enhanced by must-have modern amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen satellite televisions, and elegant Tadelakt or Italian Carrara marble bathrooms with plush bathrobes and slippers. The Riad Fés beckons you to relax in lavish oriental style at its Spa by Cinq Mondes. Unwind by the outdoor pool, in the cleansing steam of the Hammam or take that much-needed time-out and book a pampering massage.
Cuisine at the Riad Fés equals the sophistication and exclusivity of its surroundings. Secure a seat on the patio near the reflecting pool at L'Ambre restaurant. Serenaded by the tinkling fountains and soft sounds of traditional music, feast on a modern interpretation of fine Moroccan cuisine such as pastille of pigeon and shrimp tajine. You do not need to leave the hotel in search of a nightcap. Instead, retreat to trendy L'Alcazar Bar located on the Andalusian Patio, which is reminiscent of the Alhambra. For oenophiles, the Riad Fés houses a Wine Bar featuring a comprehensive selection of exquisite Moroccan vintages. If you are looking to take home more than store-bought souvenirs, partake in a Moroccan cooking class hosted by the hotel's chef. Before learning how to assemble a delectable three-course meal, follow your instructor to the town's busy souks to pick the best and freshest ingredients. No matter how you choose to spend your time, each experience is certain to be special at the Riad Fés.

Reviews for Riad Fes, Relais & Chateaux
This is the second time we have stayed at Riad Fes. It is beautiful and the rooms are large and comfortable. The rooftop bar offers lovely views of the city. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. We love the location and the quiet and relaxed atmosphere.

Like many buildings in Morocco the exterior of Riad Fes is unassuming and the access a bit confusing, but once you enter the reception area is a marvelous example of a traditional riad. The three story main courtyard has been roofed over but all of the architectural details remain. We booked a junior suite but we're upgraded to the Ambassador Suite. The room was accessed via an elevator to the roof and a covered walkway to an adjacent building. The main room was very large and the bathroom luxurious and even had a western shower that was more or less functional. The odd part was the second bathroom and walkin closet/changing room one flight below. The layout was very hogpog but the space luxurious. The bed ran a bit firm, the AC worked perf calypso, lighting was very good including the bathroom although the switches were a bit confusing. The bar on the roof had great city views but the drizzle and wind made it impossible to use. The bar on the first floor is set up reasonably well but with very limited sating and it closes at 9:30 so you have to rush to get an after dinner drink since the restaurant doesn't start serving until 7:30. This is a wonderful hotel experience and well worth the cost.

This riad was a beautiful example of the old world medina meeting the needs of luxury travelers. The hotel spaces are gorgeous and well appointed with some of Fes' best tile work, metalwork, carpetry, etc. Each room is unique, and ours was a playful loft style room that made you feel whisked back to another time. The staff is exceptional and catered to all of our requests often on short notice. Unlike most of the other tourism staff we met in Morocco, these folks are clearly well trained and outperformed. Unique for riads in Morocco, they have the essentials for a fitness center as well as a lap pool. We did not try the dining options at the hotel.

We stayed at the Riad Fes in the Royale Suite for 3 nights while in Morocco and couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. The Riad itself is remote away from the Medina in a beautiful campus that includes gardens that are breathtaking. The Riad itself is 16th Century built with amazing tile and wood work. The place is akin to a French Chateau decorated in Moroccan Details. The beds are comfy and the light fixtures are to die for. The breakfast and dinners are phenomenal and at great prices. The staff cares for you as if you were their own family and they always have a smile on their face. We enjoyed our morning workouts in the gym and garden, our private terrace, the pool, as well as evening drinks and tapas watching Sunset from their gorgeous rooftop. They have a resident mixologist in Fatah! Ask for the Funky Cold Medina! To die for. Also you won't find a kinder pair of hands preparing your food and mint tea than Fatima. If staying in Fes, you must book now. Anything else just isn't the best. Thank you Relais and Chateaux.
Riad Fes was breaktaking from the second you walk in. It is an oasis in the middle of the medina. The rooms were beautiful and the view from the rooftop overlooking the medina was amazing! The staff was very attentive. Highly recommend!
