Riad Fes, Relais & Chateaux in Fes, Morocco

Strategically located just 25 minutes from Fès Airport, the Riad Fès exudes an air of refined serenity amid the bustle of the city. A perfect example of Hispanic-Moorish architecture, the stylish hotel is arranged around four distinct patios. Ornate courtyards ranging from sober baroque to dazzling mosaic patterns and an impressive Fassi lamp flanked by artfully carved stucco arches fuse Andalusian whimsy with age-old Moroccan design. Begin your day on the rooftop terrace with a panoramic view of the Medina with its minarets against blue skies and the gentle green curves of the Atlas Mountains beyond. All 30 rooms are individually decked out in sumptuous textiles and warm-hued wooden furnishings. Filigreed bedside lamps next to traditionally carved or tufted precious cloth headboards reflect meticulous attention to detail, enhanced by must-have modern amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen satellite televisions, and elegant Tadelakt or Italian Carrara marble bathrooms with plush bathrobes and slippers. The Riad Fés beckons you to relax in lavish oriental style at its Spa by Cinq Mondes. Unwind by the outdoor pool, in the cleansing steam of the Hammam or take that much-needed time-out and book a pampering massage.

Cuisine at the Riad Fés equals the sophistication and exclusivity of its surroundings. Secure a seat on the patio near the reflecting pool at L'Ambre restaurant. Serenaded by the tinkling fountains and soft sounds of traditional music, feast on a modern interpretation of fine Moroccan cuisine such as pastille of pigeon and shrimp tajine. You do not need to leave the hotel in search of a nightcap. Instead, retreat to trendy L'Alcazar Bar located on the Andalusian Patio, which is reminiscent of the Alhambra. For oenophiles, the Riad Fés houses a Wine Bar featuring a comprehensive selection of exquisite Moroccan vintages. If you are looking to take home more than store-bought souvenirs, partake in a Moroccan cooking class hosted by the hotel's chef. Before learning how to assemble a delectable three-course meal, follow your instructor to the town's busy souks to pick the best and freshest ingredients. No matter how you choose to spend your time, each experience is certain to be special at the Riad Fés.

We stayed at Riad Fes for 4 nights over the New Year's holiday. Beautiful common spaces and perfectly located. Service was excellent, particularly Junior and Wahiba at the front desk. Its important to know that all the rooms are different. We were disappointed in our "junior suite". While it had a nice terrace with a small table, the room itself was long and narrow and quite drab. We requested a change but were told the hotel was fully booked. We did have an opportunity to peek into other rooms, many of which were larger, brighter and much prettier. In addition to the lobby areas, the hotel rooftop is lovely with gorgeous views - don't miss it. We had breakfast in the hotel each morning - food was good but not up to the level of the other two properties we stayed at on our trip.

Oriental dream. Very nice hotel. Great service. We got an upgrade to a junior suite without asking. Good foot, especially the breakfast, within the Hotel Restaurant. Good starting point for a trip within the Médina.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The rooms are all unique with incredible detail and charm. The staff was very helpful and kind. Before we arrived, my 74 year old mother was there one day by herself and did not feel well and the staff checked on her multiple times and took care of her like a family would. The food was terrific as well. The location is perfect for exploring the Fes Medina.

We have stayed two nights in this hotel in a tour in Morocco in Jan 2018, the place is wonderful. A friendly service offers you a traditional hot tea on arrival and presents the Riad. There is a complete Spa and a wonderful rooftop bar for drinks with a panoramic view over Fés. Excelent restaurant and breakfast, 5star Level. Very good Wi-Fi connection. We stayed at Tghat suite in the roof, a very comfortable room.

I went there for a Hammam. It was pretty good with very atmosphere. They have a very strong steam room which is amazing. Only concern is: they don’t give guest lotion after hammam which makes the skin dry. I asked the staff if they could give me some body lotion. They have to me in the end.
