Wonderful Escape!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The rooms were lovely, with a fireplace! We definitely took advantage of that. We were there the beginning of May, and it was still chilly. The hike around the lake is fun. It was icy when we were there, but I'm sure it would be marvelous later in the summer. The lake was still partially frozen so we couldn't use the canoes, but I would do that if we came back! The lounge/bar was great! A fabulous selection of food and it was all delicious. The staff was very helpful and friendly. No wi-fi in the rooms and no cell phone service. You can get wi-fi in the lounge area though. We will go back!!

They’re rated as a 4 star hotel, but it was 3 star service and experiencE

The staff were super green. It felt like being at summer camp- the staff were all really young and a little careless and naive. Note that there’s so cell service or wifi in the rooms, which we didn’t know before arriving. The lodge is beautiful, though a bit outdated. The area is very peaceful, quiet and pristine. The fireplace in the room was a highlight. We had a great time relaxing in the room with a crackling fire, and had a cozy sleep. If the prices fit the experience it would have been fantastic, but it’s promoted as a 4-5 star experience and it definitely isn’t. Highly recommend staying here only if you can get a good deal. The Lodge restaurant is quit mediocre, especially for the prices. We were expecting a fine-dining experience, but the service as the food quality was all just adequate. The dessert was terrible, unfortunately. Like a stale old dessert from Costco that they tried to dress up with caramel sauce.

Fairytale Destination

I saw this resort on Booking.com when looking for accommodation in Lake Louise. The setting and quaint vibe of Emerald Lake Lodge in the photos drew me in. We visited Lake Louise on our way to Emerald Lake. Even in early May it was crowded. I was so enchanted upon arrival to ELL. No crowds and even more beautiful that Lake Louise. Our room, Queen bed, looked like the photo and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. It was all that I had hoped it would be and more. The wood burning stone fireplace added to the ambience of our room. Enjoyed a casual dinner at Cilantro. All of the staff were so warm and friendly. We did the 5k walk around the lake. Wow, spectacular vistas. This place is a gem, literally. Thanks Emerald Lake Lodge. Can't wait to return.

Beautiful Location, But Only OK Experience

This place is gorgeous. A very quiet, out of service get away spot. I would likely return. Pros: Mostly nice and helpful staff. It is a beautiful, quiet spot The wood burning fireplaces are a nice touch Rooms have extra pillows provided Shuttle drivers were all extremely friendly and seemed to love their jobs Breakfast buffet was the best food offering at the main lodge Cons : The service staff while friendly, really did not seem to care about their guests, just take order, deliver food, collect tip. I think the whole time we were there ( 3 nights ) nobody asked where we were from, if we were celebrating anything etc.. The food is quite average, seems as though they aren't tasting their product before hand as majority of sauces and dishes were overwhelmed with salt. Trying to be too fancy but not having the flavour to back it up. The price of the food wasn't too bad but when presented with a really underwhelming dish, that doesn't add up. We were also told the restaurant " Cilantro" would be open on the Sunday after it had been closed on the Saturday, to our surprise it did not open Sunday either and we were only left with the main lodge for dining. We drove to Field and went to Truffle Pigs. The staff at the front desk seemed to have no idea what was going on and weren't very helpful. The lounge and the dining room offering the same dinner menu cheapens the experience in the dining room. The in room coffee is cheap pods with coffee mate creamers, not a great product and should be higher end considering the price they charge for the rooms. At the end of the day, a pretty expensive get away for the service provided. I would return because we had a great time disconnecting from the regular day to day, the views are beautiful. I would suggest finding somewhere else to dine. It is possible Cilantro on the lake is the better option however, we did not get to try.

Very small cabin

This place is incredible in its nature; however, make sure you have a larger cabin. Our cabin - 11 - was less than impressive.
