About the Hotel

Laucala’s 25 villas, all glamorous versions of traditional Fijian dwellings, each offer unparalleled exclusivity and privacy in dramatic, and very different, locations around the northern coast of the island. Eleven Plantation Villas are set amid a coconut grove beside a private beach; four Plateau Villas perch atop Nawi Mountain at the heart of the island, ringed by rainforest and offering unbroken views of the sea; seven Seagrass Villas line a powder-white beach; the Peninsula Villa hugs a cliff and crescent-shaped beach; the Overwater Villa is set above an emerald-green lagoon; and the Hilltop Estate sits at one of the island’s highest points, commanding views of the Fijian archipelago. Regardless of their location, villas are designed with soft curves and free-flowing shapes, using natural materials in construction: thatch roofs made from the leaves of sago palms, local doga timber, bala bala fern stems, and a traditional coconut husk weave known as magi magi. Impeccably furnished bedroom and living areas open to private gardens, each with an infinity-edge pool lit by Tikki torches come dusk. Villas come with a buggy, so guests are free to explore the resort at their leisure.

Reviews for Laucala Island Resort

Heaven

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed September 22, 2022

I hate to overuse the word but Laucala really is idyllic - time’s passage is tempered on this beautiful corner of paradise. By far the best property in the world run by the most passionate and dedicated team. From the amazing cuisine at the various restaurants to the unparalleled list of included water sports everything you can imagine is made possible here. The Villas in particular have so much space and privacy that you often feel you have the entire island to yourself. Huge thanks to Gary, Chef Dan, Mo, Eleni, Jerry, Gordon, Emasi, Rupeni and the entire team for making it such an outstanding holiday.

This resort is next level. The most amazing resort I have ever seen. This is a natural wonderland, with so much to do. The staff are as good as anywhere I have been, the service incredible and the food amazing. The villas are equally amazing. This is heaven on earth!

Laucala is calling

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed January 15, 2020

Dear readers, Laucala Island is calling you. Whatever you are looking for, you will find it there! LAUCALA ISLAND = PARADISE. Our holidays for the third time started at Laucala´s private Lounge at Nadi Airport and continued on board of Laucala´s private jet. After a fifty-minute flight over the unique South Pacific with its dramatic scenery, you will land at Laucala Island´s private airport, but you will still remain in the seventh heaven! For further details see "The Blue Age of Fiji".

Stayed here and never put pen to paper for a review. Stayed here for three nights as a quick anniversary getaway. A ridiculously awesome all inclusive resort. Staff to guest ratio i dont think would be beaten on any other hotel in the world. Food and service is befitting of the billionaire who owns it (obviously). Find yourself at one end of the island wanting a yummy meal you had yesterday at the other restaurant? No problem sir we are on it... 15min later its in front of you. Pool is HUGE, multilayered, and epic. Seascooters laying around the pool if you cant be bothered swimming! Jetskis whenever you want (tidal) Went to breakfast one morning and forgot sunglasses. Whipped back to the room to find 4 service golf buggies and 8 attendant s hurriedly cleaning rooms, gardens, pool (we had our own pool), replentishing supplies etc. Crazy. Bottom line: it has the feeling you are lucky to experience a resort built by someone regardless of cost or financial return. The website is testament to this :)

What an experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed January 11, 2020

Hands down the best holiday I have ever been on! The service, food, cleanliness, presentation was just incredible. The villa was to die for - two giant bathtubs - one inside, one outside. The comfiest best I’ve ever slept on I got back from this holiday completely relaxed and refreshed. Definitely add this one to your bucket list.
