Bad Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The good: welcoming and attentive staff. The pianist and bartenders were also great. The Bad: The hotel is outdated and dirty. We stayed for four days and noticed the stairways were never cleaned. All of them had dirt, dead flys, and dead bugs. The first room we were given had so many mosquitoes, we got bit relentlessly. By the 2nd night we had to request a change. The second room was even worse, it smelled so bad like rotten eggs , unfortunately we couldn’t wait to leave. As a Marriott ambassador, you also don’t get very many amenities. We really hope Marriott corporate focus a bit more on this hotel.

Gem in Florence

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

What a lovely gem in Florence! Far enough away from the Duomo to keep the noise down but close enough to enjoy everything the city has to offer. I stayed in a Superior Room overlooking the piazza. They are old-school and use original keys so you leave them with the concierge while exploring. The staff was amazing! Was in Florence for a wedding arriving on a Saturday afternoon. Needed things pressed for the next day's wedding and Sina Villa Medici made sure the items were ready. They also arranged for a driver to take us to/from the wedding and the driver was fabulous. Harry's Bar, famous in its own right, was perfect for an afternoon spritz or a late evening nightcap. The chef sends out snacks to enjoy while you sit either outside by the pool or inside by the famous bar. The included was plentiful and the perfect place to start your day. An unexpected flight cancelation caused me to need to spend an extra night. The hotel made sure that I was acccommodated arranging a driver to the airport the next day. All in all, I would highly recommend this property. It's family friendly and a perfect place to be based while exploring Tuscany.

Hidden Gem

The AC Sina Villa Medici hotel is a very nice hotel, comfortable, quiet and in a nice area just outside from the hustle and bustle of Florence. A short walk to any attractions you may want to see. What sets this hotel apart in the staff who are very friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay memorable. A special shout out to Giorgia who was two for two in her recommendations on where to eat. The best pizza may be found in a 15 minute walk to Giotto Pizzeria and an excellent dinner can be found 2 minutes down the street at Casa Ciabatini. The pasta is made fresh and it’s amazing. So is the bread! Won’t break the bank either.

Staff saved the day!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Two of the front desk staff helped us get a taxi after our car service to the airport never showed up at 4am (organized through a different service, not the hotel) and helped us communicate with the taxi drivers. The location was nice. It's a little bit outside of the main tourist attractions, but still an easy 15 min walk and the location made it much quieter at night, which was great. Some really great restaurants are nearby too! The hotel is beautiful, the breakfast was amazing, and the beds were super comfy. We'd stay there again if we ever get back to Florence!

Amazing location and gorgeous hotel in Florence!

This hotel is beautiful and in a great location in Florence. My daughter and I were able to walk to pretty much everything we wanted to see. The staff is extremely friendly! They also have a beautiful pool and gorgeous restaurant. I would describe this hotel as being very romantic and exquisite. 100% will stay there again when I come back to Florence! The attention to detail from the general manager Fernando Pane was great and we felt extremely welcomed.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Villa Medici in April. From the moment we were greeted by our courteous driver at the train station to our return, our expectations were exceeded. The room was lovely, overlooking all of Florence, and we knew we would spend time watching the sunset every evening. And the fresh flowers, wonderful cantuccini and vin santo were a welcome treat!
