Hotel Helvetia & Bristol in Florence, Italy
Set in the center of Florence, the fantastic Hotel Helvetia & Bristol is an essential component of the city's magnificent architectural history. This restored building retains a period feel in rooms awash in lush silks, figured-tile flooring and 17th-century Florentine paintings. Visit the Hostaria Bibendum restaurant, where Chef Roberto Cordisco deliciously interprets Tuscan cuisine, while the sweeping windows of the fifth floor suite make guests feel as if the Duomo is right in their own back yard.
When it comes to exploring the city, there is no better place to begin than at this popular gathering place for artists, celebrities and aristocracy. Pay a visit to the renowned Uffizi Gallery, take in Michelangelo's wondrous statue of David, shop on the Via Dei Tornabuoni, and wander picturesque streets that have changed little since the 15th century. Sunsets are a particular delight, especially when paired with a view of the Ponte Vecchio and the Arno River.

Reviews for Hotel Helvetia & Bristol
We stayed here for a few days and we really enjoyed it. The hotel is really nice, not modern but completely in "Florence"style. Room was big enough, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. People at the reception and at breakfast were kind and helpful. The hotel is in the centre of the city so perfectly located. Our room was facing the inner square and was really quiet.

This friendly compact hotel is situated only a stone's throw from the Duomo and is perfectly located being in easy walking distance from all other places of interest. It is only a few minutes walk from the Ponte Vecchia and Uffizi museum and about 10 minutes from the Accadamea museum. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We did not have dinner here but the breakfast was good with choice of English and continental style. Our room was bright and spacious although we were very fortunate in that we had been upgraded to a suite! Highly recommended.

The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of Florence and yet amazingly quiet and tranquil - it is a small hotel but in no way lacking in amenites - all of the staff were so friendly and helpful - never too busy to offer advice to the traveller - the hotel was always very clean and tidy, the room was cleaned every day and fresh sheets on the bed every day - breakfast which for us was included in the price was lovely - fresh juice, tea or coffee, cereals, hot items such as scrambled egg and bacon and cakes and rolls - if you wanted anything specific the staff were only too happy to make it for you - nothing was too much trouble

Excellent service, great atmosphere, attention to all details. It's always nice to receive a handwritten welcome letter from the General Manager. Very good breakfast. Perfectly placed at the central point of the city's historical ventre. Next time I will be back here, COMPLIMENTI
We stayed here for 3 nights on our recent trip to Florence. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the station and of most of the major sights. However, the central location and the historic nature of the building (old windows, no double glazing) led to quite a bit of street noise if in a bedroom facing the street (although I will say that this didn't really disturb my sleep much after the first night). Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, although we only experienced the turn-down service on one night out of the three that we were there (not that this bothers me as I don't really see the point of it, but if it is offered, then I expect to receive it!). The room was clean, spacious and well-equipped. Furnishings and decor are in keeping with the style of the building (historic Florence), so if you want sleek and modern, then this isn't for you, but I loved the style and feel of the place. Overall, apart from the uniformed doorman and bellboy, this didn't feel me a 5 star hotel; it feels more like a very good 4 star hotel. Having said all this, I would certainly stay here again, although I'd probably request a room facing on the inner courtyard, as I've heard that they are quieter.
