What can I say. Slightly more expensive than the average Florence hotel - but worth every penny. The best location in the city, near to everything you need to see. The staff were amazing and recommended our dinner every night (see reviews). Breakfast is lovely and the rooms are stunning.

Fabulous hotel, charming staff, and prime location for everything in the heart of Firenze. You can walk to absolutely everywhere from this perfect location. Very clean, gorgeously well appointed rooms. We so enjoyed our stay that will be returning guests.

I booked the Bristol suite and paid for it in advance via guest reservation. When I checked in I got a simple room. The hotel didn’t want to take responsibility for the problem. Only after strong complaints from me did they give me a better room but not the suit I booked. I got a room on the top floor under the roof with view blocked by the roofs of the houses around. No excuses given by Helvetia & Bristol, nor Starhotels I won’t book with them anymore!

Compared to many other hotels that try to appear and pose as a luxury hotel, this really is one (also a member of the Leading Hotels of the World). Check-in was very good and friendly and the room was superb. In general, the whole hotel is a masterpiece of design and interior decoration. They have a stunningly beautiful restaurant and breakfast area ("winter garden"). Staff are professional and the whole place is spotlessly clean. When you enter and leave the hotel, the door is opened for you and you are kindly greeted. This is what we want and expect from a place like this. The only thing I would improve: There is not really a lounge/relax area that is being served and where you can order small bits of food or drinks during the day, e.g. in the afternoon. If you sit down in the lobby, they will eventually come and ask if they can do something for you, but you sense that it's not really meant as a served lounge to pass the time.
