we love this hotel - everything is so good here... it started late at night when we were in a need for a room and they were so pleasant over the phone and fair with the prices. then ,it continued with a lovely, beautiful room, and lots of little details taken care of... and the service by the staff was very warm and nice. the location is wonderful, too. great coffeeshop for breakfast within 5 minutes of walking - and the very crowded city heart within 15 min.

I stayed for one night in early October. I found the staff to be pleasant and helpful and the lobby to be stunning. The hotel is located within walking distance of the train station and close enough to explore the many beauties for Florence. I did not like the rooms. I stayed in one that had a strange smell. The hotel is older and so you should expect to find older rooms and bathrooms. If you are looking for a centrally located hotel, this is an option work considering.

We stayed at the Montebello Splendid for three nights in October. It's a short walk - about 15 minutes - from the city centre in a nice quiet area. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful and their recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants were very good. Our room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It's not cheap, but then it is Florence.

The Hotel Montebello Splendid is an extraordinarily beautiful hotel with first-rate service and amenities. If there is one aspect of the hotel that falls just a bit short, it is the food in the hotel's restaurant which, while good, is not quite up to the superlative standards of the rest of the hotel. That being said, you can still have a fine meal there if you don't feel like venturing out on the town.

I spent a long weekend in Florence and stayed at the Montebello Splendid - and as usual everything was first class - the staff, the room, the breakfast. The staff are all very helpful and friendly - nothing was too difficult or too hard - including arranging a last minute tour connection.
