"Hospitality that feels personal — and a view we’ll never forget Some hotels are beautiful. Some are luxurious. And then there’s Portrait Firenze — a place where the people make the difference in a way that’s almost hard to put into words. We’ve stayed at many high-end hotels (Four Seasons, The Ritz, and others), but this was on another level. Caterina made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived — she even sat with us for probably 20 minutes, helping us settle in and making everything feel easy and personal, not scripted. And there are so many other standouts — Matteo and Sara among them — that I honestly wish I could remember every single name, because it felt like the staff was taking care of us hand over fist in the most gracious, effortless way. One moment we’ll never forget: they left our daughter a thoughtful gift in our room because she’s attending the Master program at Polimoda — a beautiful Ferragamo book. It was so specific, so considerate, and it perfectly captured what makes this place extraordinary: they don’t just provide service — they pay attention. And the location? Unreal. We were walking distance to everything, and having the Ponte Vecchio visible from our room was one of those “is this real life?” Florence moments we’ll never forget. A special shout-out as well to Caffè dell’Oro, the adjoining restaurant. Ugo and Rafa took incredible care of us, and Oliver — the bartender at night — was fantastic. Breakfast each morning felt like a celebration: a generous spread of sweet and savory options, plus plenty of healthy choices, all beautifully presented, with service that matched the hotel perfectly. This is the kind of stay that reminds you what true hospitality is supposed to feel like. We left genuinely grateful — and already talking about when we can come back.

My sister / her friend and I stayed at this GORGEOUS property in Feb 2026 and I can’t sing enough praises for this place . I would have given it 8 stars if I could . I was looking for a hotel with the view of river Arno ( just like in E M Foster’s Room With A View ) and a view of Ponte Vecchio . I had never slept so well at a hotel and I was sleeping like a baby at this place . The location is pretty amazing . 3 mins walk to Uffizi gallery to see Botticelli and Leonardo Da Vinci . 5-10 mins walk to all the best shops and the hotel is surrounded by great restaurants. The breakfast ( buffet with one à la carte hot dish ) is insane and plentiful. Lactose free yogurt- hell o& thank you . Everything was gorgeous at breakfast including the service . The rooms - we booked 2 studio rooms which were huge with separate living room / kitchenette with sink / microwave/ dishwasher/ nespresso machine / kettle etc . The bathroom has 2 sink and a walk in shower . All toiletries are by Ferragamo. The staffs were attentive and really helpful but am Kind of a super organised person so I’d booked ALL the sites / museums in advance . The concierge was very efficient with organising our pick up at the train station ( we had come from Venice ) . I will definitely come back here . Our stay was so magical and unforgettable. Just pure joy . FYI - they don’t have a gym here but they can organise to have a mat and some weights in your room or you can use their sister’s hotel gym room but was told it’s 11x11 Sam so teeny tiny .

Wonderful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Sophisticated accommodation in a great location.

This was my first stay at the Portrait. I stay in Florence a few times a year, and have historically stated elsewhere. I highly recommend the property, and will return as soon as practicable. The hotel is thoughtfully designed, beautifully executed, and the staff are the biggest asset. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable and well appointed. The staff were professional, friendly, and always helpful. I had daily breakfast, and one complete dinner, while there, and the food is outstanding. I highly recommend the property, and look forward to returning.
