My husband and I stayed here with our two girls. The hotel is extremely conveniently located within easy walking distance of all major sights. Our suite was large, sunny, clean, impeccably furnished, and beautifully outfitted with the latest modern appointments (including an iPad which entranced the girls during their downtime). We had lovely views of the Arno and the pull-out sofa in the living room was extraordinarily comfortable. However, we stayed for three nights, and despite asking at check-in and thereafter, each morning, to have the sofa set up for the girls when we returned each night, it was NEVER set up! So each night, upon return, we were forced to call down and ask for someone to come up to pull it out and set it up for them to sleep in. The breakfast buffet was a bit lacking as well. Having just stayed at the NH Collection in Venice with its incredible array of breakfast options, we were a bit disappointed with the Portrait's limited charcuterie, fruit and pastry buffet. Last, we couldn't quite get over the giant square key "ring." Probably best to drop the key off with the front desk so we didn't have to carry it around all day, but while we do occasionally enjoy pleasantries, sometimes we just want to go straight to the room! Overall, this is a fine hotel but perhaps a bit too much form over substance.

Best hotel experience ever. My family and I stayed at a suite at the Portrait Hotel in June. This hotel was amazing and was the highlight of our trip!! From the minute we got there the staff was there to please. They helped us in every way they could making our trip as easy as possible. We have stayed at many top hotels but this hotel was at another level they went way above the service of a four seasons. The rooms were beautiful and location was perfect. Thank you to Francesco, Matteo and Baha. For their service and kindness during our stay. This hotel is worth every penny. Great job by the lungarno collection.

The day after we checked in, I emailed our son back in the States to tell him that the Portrait Firenze made the Four Seasons and the Ritz seem like the Days Inn by comparison. We have never been catered to in such a gracious manner. The staff are well-mannered and courteous in the extreme. A special shout-out to Leonardo Leoni, Matteo Lubrano, Carolina Tortoli for going above and beyond. BTW, Carolina looks just like Julia Roberts! While the personal service was the primary differentiator, the location of the property couldn't have been better. The decor was very upscale, the restaurant superb. We will definately stay there next time we're in Florence.

We have stayed at many 5* hotels over the years during our travels but we can honestly say that none tops this excellent hotel. The room was superb and the staff and their willingness to help with any questions or needs we had was second to none. We have to make a special call-out to Adele who made our stay special by her handling some special needs we had regarding our ongoing travel. The location could not have been better...an easy walk to a large number of museums, historic buildings, shopping choices and restaurants...could not be beat! The breakfast buffet was good and the dinners at their restaurant were excellent. Again, this was truly a memorable stay and one which we will use as a measure of excellence for future stays at other hotels!!!

If you are on the fence about booking this, let me tell, you just do it. This hotel is absolutely utterly amazing, worth every penny. The staff- They were fantastic: hospitable, kind, knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming. The property- is amazing. The "lobby" isn't a traditional hotel lobby. It's an impeccably decorated lounge area. You sit and they come to you. I felt a little outta sorts for like 2 minutes since that's not they way they do it in the states however the staff puts you at ease very quickly. The room was amazing. Extremely modern and upscale yet comfortable. The shower I could have been in for days. The view, amazing. The location is amazing as well: in the heart of the city yet close to everything. This review nor any other reviews do this place justice. I scour reviews when booking hotels because I am extremely picky and don't want to be duped. This hotel was an integral part of having a fantastic time in Florence. Just pull the trigger and stay here.
